I should have asked Joe at the Yogurt show. The vibe was too thick to think about anything but the moment, that night. I've said this before but I rarely if ever ask Joe about what he's been working on in the vault. I like surprises! The vault, ....these FZ, GZ, DZ, and JT productions, they certain...

; ...... I have not been listening since 1968 because I was not born, nor a thought at that point, but that doesn't mean I'm not as big of a fan.... Today, I feel differently. My excitement is gone. I still love FZs music. It's really all I currently listen to and probably always will, but being st...

If I may add upon my hopes of this project evolving. A local based show such as this lends itself to expanding exposure to unique arrangements. For example, the 78' arrangement of Village Of The Sun. If Zappa Plays Zappa were to do a tour that focused on unique arrangements the promoters may have a ...

Would love for this project to evolve. The Strawberry Grade A Net WT Heavy selection of arrangements seemed like a fine beginning. Here's hoping to a wide variety of flavors with CDs and DVDs of for the less fortunate parts of the world.

I sure hope DZ won't have to chime in on this. He's a little busy right now. Let all the ranters rant. There's a musical doin's a transpiring! 8) I certainly hope nothing gets in the way of his creative process. All his reports regarding this project put my mindframe in hebbin'. I certain...

DZ probably doesn't even know that Trendy comes here and posts negatively against FZ fans. The way a few of the so called fans communicate here at this site I have to wonder if they are even Frank Zappa fans. Did not Frank Zappa and Dweezil Zappa collaborate on Dragon Master. From my memory Dweezil...

Sounds like a cool project. And an extra 1/4 tone fretted (strat) guitar?! I wonder how that'll sound...? Investigating the wonders of the world are a great reason to be alive. While I have yet to have heard what that particular instrument sounds like, back in the early 70s I was listening to Harry...

What about Chalk Pie? What was it? Frank Zappa Chalk Pie Unreleased LP 1981 http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=22210 So, by looking at the tracklist I believe it's an absolutely killer album. Am I right? From my perspective, by looking at the canon of works, it's all killer. When consider...

I've often wondered about the fanatical perception of which The Man From Utopia, Thing Fish and Them Or Us projects were produced. Over the decades many opinions have been offered. In speaking of The Man From Utopia, Thing Fish and Them Or Us, there seems to be some common production element that co...

Food for thought.

The Resentment Listener website has an article The Six Sides of FrankZerox.

While any given Unsophistcated Country Type Person may or may not been N'Lightened, history shows us that any given New York Crazy Type Person could learn a lesson on this day. Overjoyed, I sat quietly in my seat, eyes and ears fixated on what was happening on the stage. Admitidly by this time I was...

At times FZs Conceptual Continuity is quite obvious, at times it requires some research. In this topic at hand, the topic heading is more-so a statement as opposed to asking a specific question of conceptual continuity. EDIT: For even a casual listener it should be obvious that at times, Conceptual ...

Here we are, but a few days after the release and there is already questionable, if not downright illegal, streaming of this project. The power to believe in a code of good will, the consumers that not only buy it through legal channels but question, and but also, take a stance against illegal strea...

this is a fantastic release! have we ever been graced by liner notes as thorough and interesting as Ruth's? to any one who'll just rip the music onto your computer, or especially any downloaders out there, you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading Ruth's Notes From The Back Row! well that'...

I've listened to Roxy & Elsewhere tens of thousands of times since I purchased it the day it was first released. That's a heavy listening schedule, considering its upcoming 40th anniversary on the 10th of September will mark day number 14,611 of its existence. I never actually kept literal tabs...

I don't think the ZFT has a "penchant" for repackaging already available stuff although they have done so on occasion - FZPTMOFZ, and the repeat of the 80's remix of WOIIFTM on Lumpy Money (although I like the remix, my 1986 Ryko CD still sounds fine). Finer Moments is an album FZ put tog...

I think you need to broaden your horizons. Frank did not "pioneer" overdubs on live material My so called horizons are quite diverse. In speaking of one of the Pioneers of Overdubbing I also have quite a bit of Les Paul's recordings. Just because Frank was not making records with overdubs...
