I guess my question is what does this actually mean? Joe's Garage, the Musical? That high school play that Ben was in? When speaking of Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage, I never saw any evidence that it was written as a High School Musical. Since I don't have the official documents in hand from the offic...

I guess my question is what does this actually mean? Joe's Garage, the Musical? That high school play that Ben was in? KUIII, PHEEEW, I have never seen any evidence that the Open Fist Theatre Company is a High School Musical Theatre Company. Your commentary seems quite a bit misleading and disrespe...

"But for those of you who mark time by other means than your heart or your foot" - Gail Zappa. If I first may state that I have no intent to scold anyone, put pointedly just ask folks to look at how they not only keep time in any level of appreciation or Frank Zappa's work, and but also, ...

BUT one thing that bugs me a bit is GZ's liner notes? Firstly I'll politely state that I find your commentary disrespectful to not only the composers intent, but the lengths at which Gail goes to to help protect, not only his work, but other endangered living things and artists works. While Frank Z...

In listening to The Ascolta Ensemble's live recording of Frank Zappa's Overture To Uncle Sam I am amazed at not only their abilities, and but also, the larger picture of what FZ may have had in store with Uncle Sam . As a side note, the youtube clip of their performance of Reagan At Biburg also give...

I'm on about my seventh or eigth run through now, and I am loving it. I've been looking forward to hearing this since I first realised it was even a thing (1995?1996?) and it's a real pleasure. I love it. Frank's synclavier music is my favourite of all his ouvres. When speaking of Franks' so called...

Wow. I just listened to the whole thing again. This thing sounds so dated and is boring as fuck. I'll more than likely never listen to it again. Can't say that I am at all surprised that you feel this way. Seeing you walk away from your seat during ZPZs performance of Status Back Baby was a thought...

I agree. But you guys are wrong trying to convince the non-syncavlier lovers that they are going to like this. I'm puzzled as to why anyone would need to stand up on the pulpit and convince anyone of the mere fact that FZs Synclavier was nothing short of the finest digital orchestra of it's time. F...

Yep. Just shut up and play your CD. Put your finger on the button. Don't say nothin'. No matter how bad it is, it's good. No matter how good it is, it's no better, or worse, than every other piece of music he performed. It's all one big performance piece, and can only be treated as one song. So kee...

Waiting for the 1st reliable review  In speaking of historical trends of "The Review" I see no reason to rehash stupidity of that journalistic trend. Waiting arround for the so called "1st reliable review" could just as well have a common accord with a famous Frank Zappa q...

Last comment I am going to make here. In my deepest sincerity I am having a Yogurt craving, but there is definitively headroom differences in Analogue to Digital transfers that use a high end AD/DA converter such as the Meitner Mark II A/D converter as compared to when analogue to digital transfers ...

Its stupid to think that the headroom of an analog track changes when dubbed to digital. You are clearly missing the point. Headroom on Digital Transfers in 2015 is different than when digital transfer technology first was being done. I am not saying there is an improvement in the original analogue...

Oh, how I wish you wouldn't pretend that you understand electronics, recording, music... bad information is worse than no information. I'd correct your errors, but I'd have to rewrite the majority of the fucking post. Besides, I've tried in the past and it hasn't helped. No need to correct anything...

OMG. Frank Filipetti? I hope he has realized that many have volume buttons on their sound systems. Compared with Buffalo, he can only improve. http://www.killuglyradio.com/2009/08/19/the-loudness-war-in-modern-audio-mastering/ Frank Filipetti Mixed Buffalo. A little surprising that a recording made nearly 20 years after Frank's passing will be Official Release #101 though. I'm surprised that a publisher such as yourself is not making mention that at one point in the early 90s Frank had been planning a live production of the 200 Motels Suites material....

For anyone wondering about Dweezil Zappa's Fretboard Freedom. Pointedly how it is used in live performance. Tonight's show at the House of Blues, Dallas Texas has some fine examples. One example is DZs 2nd guitar solo in The Grand Wazoo. Dweezl instructs the band and it develops into a Fretboard Fre...

DZ doesn't need an apologist for him. . You've clearly lost something in translation. In no way, shape or form am I appologizing about anything. Having just watched the House of Blues show I remain steadfast that Zappa Plays Zappa performs the music better. In no way do I think every person on God'...

hmm what seems to be restricting his fretboard freedom? Dweezil himself said that he was still learning his parts for Sinister II. Because the tune is so awesome they were going to play it without the composed guitar parts anyways. Not being critical or negative. Just looking forward to it being th...
