Ok, I've heard it twice, elsewhere. The sound quality is great for its time. And the performance and audience participation are fantastic. This was truly a one of a kind performance. I'll be buying it at the ZPZ show here next month (good damn expensive shipping!).

Oh and btw, the show announcer is named, Terry David Mulligan. He's a local/national former DJ/VJ and still current TV personality. I actually met him once about 20 years ago. He interviewed FZ several times and covered every show FZ played here. His recent autobio, entitled "Mulligan's Stew: My Life...So Far", includes a nice pic of FZ and him backstage. Here it is:

It might've even been taken at this particular show but I'm not sure...

Very nice shot, Disco. Judging from his coat, very thick moustache and T-Rex hairstyle (with obvious differences to his 1968 full-bore shagginess), I'd vote for the 9/19, 1970 Vancouver show, shortly before he got his Fillmore-era curls.

That's what a series like this is supposed to be.

JayP, you just reminded me of what the ZFT should release! The ill-fated 7 sided LP box Warts & All! Fuck yeah!

Listened closely to disc 1 and those snorks are loud 8)

OCLT is great and Hungry Freaks Daddy comes off very well. Disc 2 tomorrow.

Just sat down to the full program. Easily one of my favourite releases. the playing is fantastic, and for the source the sound is fine.

If this is the type of stuff Zappa had kicking around his vault that he didn't consider worth releasing, then bring it. I'm in for the series.

Hopefully the ZFT is raking in gobs of cash from the Universal deal that will give them the funds for more of these releases!

To the person who asked about the identify of the speaker on Road Tapes Disc 1 Track 6: that is definitely John "Bunk" Gardner!! I can hear Motorhead and Roy chiming in later on during the rap, then the din at the end becomes too mangled to tell if any other MOI members joined in in the frivolity!

I just listened one time & it seems to be a very good one. The sound is better than Carnegie Hall.

Thanks to the ZFT for making this happen, this is a great release that i just can't stop listening to, i wish this was available as a download so we would not have problems like having to fade from disc 1 to disc 2, that would be easy to sort out on a download version, i edited it myself and loaded it to itunes without the fade from disc to disc, but it would have been easier to buy as a download without that problem.

I love it. It's worth the cost just for Holiday In Berlin, but there's so much more. The Varese' tune is great. Anyone who likes early MOI will love it.
