This album contains three of Frank's most brilliant guitar pieces!
Ever.
But Filthy Habits gets my vote because it's so dark
and wicked sounding! Didn't he say somewhere how he
recorded this piece? Something like five different guitar layers...

Edit:

Whoops. I was mistaken.

I honestly cannot remember what I voted for in this poll. Probably "Ocean".

Why has the release I've got got far less tunes on than that?

WTF!

This poll combines the original all-instumental vinyl release with the subsequent compact disc release, which revised three of the instrumentals by adding lead vocals sung by Thana Harris.

These favorite song polls are the hardest questions I'll have to answer all year.

I picked Regyptian Strut, which I loved a tiny bit more than Sleep Dirt, Filthy Habits & the Ocean is the US.

I know it really doesn 't matter, but I'm really strugglin' on these!

This poll was a toughie for me. As much as I love Regyptian Strut, I decided to go with Sleep Dirt because I first heard it as the backround music in an FZ tribute video on YouTube that someone put together. Needless to say, the tears came a-flowin' and quick.

And I, for one, like Thana Harris's vocals and think that they add a little something extra to the already great instrumentals.

Overall, this is another DAMN good FZ album IMHO.

One of my fave's too!
This one makes my short list of Frank's best.

I don't mind the vocals either however I must admit to preferring
the all instrumental version. I think if we had the full "HUNCHENTOOT"
si-fi- musical it would all work amazingly!
Where is this lost masterpiece???

Also, I know Frank didn't approve of the releases or the album artwork
but I think Studio Tan, Orchestral Favourites and Sleep Dirt
are three of the coolest covers of ANY album EVER!
(Except maybe Uncle Meat)

I listened to this album today and I just want to say that Frank's guitar playing on this album is brilliant!

Er, by the way, I can't remember if I voted for Sleep Dirt or Filthy Habits. If I could vote again it would be for Filthy though. I love the YCDTOSA Vol. 4 version also.

My vote goes to...

Spider of Destiny - Instrumental
Time is Money (without shitty vocals) is second.

Thana Harris' singing does nothing for me.
That's not true, the vocals on Sleep Dirt give
me diarrhea.

Re-gyptian Strut, one of my top-five favourite Zappa songs.
