Dickie's Such An Asshole

Had to think hard about this one. "Any Kind of Pain" and "Jesus Thinks" were both contenders too. But "Any Kind" ends kind of weakly, and "Jesus" drags in spots. But Dickie's RIVETING all the way through. And he really is/was an asshole, so that gives it an extra NUDGE into first place.

I feel I should have picked "Jesus Thinks You're a Jerk", but instead I went for "Promiscuous". The only rap song I've ever liked, and enjoy singing.

Elvis Has Just Left The Building, because of how hilariously mean it is. "So what if he looks like a warthog in heat...he knows we all love him, we'll just watch him eat!" Damn! And I thought I didn't like Elvis.

Yo, this album is, in my opinion, Zappa's most flawless pop album. It flows so damn well...! Sometimes I even think it's the best of the 88 albums. My favorite song on it is 'Any Kind of Pain', which is THE song (along with Inca Roads and Wille The Pimp) that lead to me understanding what Zappa does in solos. Great stuff.

you could at least say which song you're voting for, though, instead of all those pictures...

I voted for "I Got 'Dem Ol' Consternation Blues". Just joking. I voted for The Untouchables. I like its feel, and I love Ike calling out the "crooks" near the end. Also, FZ introduces the band at the end of the song (vinyl version only).

Tough choice but I'll go with AKoP> I like the understated solo as well as the guitar tone. Bobby Martin's vocal backings are damn good and also I think Ike and Frank have always harmonized and complemented one another vocals quiet nicely. Fun lyrics to sing as well. Ya dig?
