Very interesting!

I must admit I have never heard of it. Do you know if one can excpect accuracy? Also, is it for all instruments, or.... ?

Moreover, are we going to consider this a "legit" book release? :)

The other two Hal Leonard books for Hot Rats and Apostrophe are very well known and are sold through Barfko Swill so yes, they are very legit. I heard a rumour about the Overnite Sensation one dating back to before the new forum so, as you can imagine, if I'd been holding my breath I'd be long dead by now.

The Hal Leonard books are not full orchestrations, but are arranged for guitars only. None the less, they give a very good representation of the music.

A few years ago (around the time the Hot Rats book came out) there was a listing on Amazon for the One Size Fits All guitar book set to be released. Never saw that one come through.

*edit*
Found it:

Jesus, that was December 2003 and it still hasn't appeared. All of a sudden my excitement has been extinguished.

Thanks. I have never looked into them. I might want to give it a try (if it becomes available :D ).

For what it's worth, it's not listed on the Hal Leonard site....

I once sent Slime a Dutch magazine which had a How To Play Zappa Style article in it. Maybe I have a scan, so I can translate it for you.

http://www.afka.net/articles/1983-07_Guitar_Player.htm

"I use a device called a Mic-Mix Dyna-flanger. There are actually two of them being used at the same time. You see, the Dyna-flanger has an envelope follower built into it. So if you set one of them up to go sharp when the envelope is hit hard, and the other one to go flat when the envelope is hit hard, then you're going to get this doubling effect wherever there's an actual pitch discrepancy in the notes, and it really sounds like two instruments playing the same thing"FZ.
