I rarely get sick too. It sucks when it happens. Cheers to a speedy recovery mate!

Been on the road a lot this week, so around 30 albums.
Wondering if one of the solos in ship arriving too late / envelopes has FZ on 'talkbox' (as in peter frampton).
TT

I've often wondered that too TT. I can't tell for sure, but I don't think so. I am also not a musician either. This is probably not the best place to ask. Mostly just GG and myself stealing each other's playlists.

What a great way to start a Saturday GG! Dedicated this morning to Robin Williams. Thanks for the many laughs and a few cries over the years. Say hi to Frank for me. RIP!

Joe's Camouflage and Roxy By Proxy...the latter has been playing on a loop since it's wonderful and because the jewel case's (flimsy plastic) hub was broken when I opened it! Not putting the CD back in that, so I'll have to look for a case somewhere. Although in the liner notes by Ruthie (so well done!) and Gail say this would not be a something Frank would have released, it's very enjoyable and has that "in the moment" feel of being at the concert. I recall FZ's "Hello folks!" greeting being on Zappa.com years ago...seems there was a spot where you could click on an icon and get certain sounds, and that was one of them. After he announces Ruth, she finishes with a gong, and he intones, "The gong always gets 'em!" Seems this was on the site as well at one time. So, this has been around for quite a long while, still glad it was released.
Camouflage is a lovely surprise from the band that didn't quite make it past a few performances, a shame, really. "Who Do You Think You Are?" is a fun piece with Frank asking Ahmet (I'm guessing) to sing a few things into the mic. Very sweet and funny. The music is great, obviously, and will be played yet again after I've had my fill of Proxy...which may not happen for awhile!

Dove - I'm guessing (too) that the kid in question is Dweezil and not Ahmet. These recordings must have taken place in '75 or '76. Ahmet was born in '74. He'd have to be a pretty advanced little kid to be the one talking on the recording. Dweezil would have been 6 or 7 which I think makes more sense.

KUIII, that makes sense, but this sounds like a VERY young child, possibly two. My nephew used to say "Hello!" like that when he was that age, maybe he was advanced, who knows. I was listening to it on the way home from ZPZ and turned it up loud so I could hear some of the background voices. It seems like there is an older boy talking at the same time, who I thought might be Dweezil. I was surprised while reading the liner notes at home not to have anything like this mentioned or any other trivial stuff us freaks like to read about that is usually there. But I am fine if it is Dweezil, heh, heh.
