When you listen to Zappa, the silence that follows is still Zappa. :P

Is the silence that precedes 'ROXY' enhanced silence? Or is it just un-stimulated air and downright forgettable?

Without music to decorate it time is....and I forget the rest of that quote, but fill in the blank there as the ultimate answer.

The FZ ROXY audio is being assembled - tapes are being baked - so that the process of synchronization can occur.
The film negative was transferred to Hi Def and the audio is captured at the highest resolution from the original analog tapes. YES this is getting underway... Had to get this one done to clear the way for the REAL ROXY.

Wow, Graham, is this the first official non-mumbo-jumbo statement regarding ROXY (since '93, at least?!)

Now Joe, take that food out of yo' microwave.

Is it the beginning of a new era of... transparency and communication about the ongoing projects and activities?
Whatever, Dweezil really looks like a cool and nice guy.

Could you plz post a link to the page where you got that info? Or did it come into your mailbox?

when Dweezil says "Hi-Def" does that mean that FZ's Roxy will ONLY be available in Blue Ray or will this see a DVD release as well?

Hopefully so

Don't know. But the ZPZ dvd he's editing now is set for only Blue Ray release, according to his website. Remember DVD-A?

I just wanted something to post in the 150th Roxy DVD thread I've posted in.

Well, as the Writer and Supervising Producer of the show, I appreciate the compliment. And as an FZ fan tired of waiting for the Roxy DVD, I appreciate the distraction.

It's one of three shows that I can't wait to see each week.

Fuck if I'm going blue ray just to see Roxy. DVD's suck bad enough without them being twice as 'spensive. One little scratch and they won't even play in my computer.

According to Dweezil's DweezilZappaWorld DVD Update BLOG
Ronny's Noomies comment above are incorrect.

FYI - As of this writing there are 4 pages of DZW User Comments to Dweezil's DVD update Blodg.
Research Dweezil's Blog & DZW User Comments.

Release formats for both projects are not fully determined. Will keep you posted.

Please do both releases on DVD and Blu-Ray. I will buy them both on both formats, and I'm sure there are many pople out there like me.

Keep up the good work, Dweezil! I'm actually more excited about the ZPZ release in HD than the FZ release now.... Go figure.

Dweezil wrote on Mar 6, 2010 at 02:33 AM

It makes sense to manufacture it both ways. I'll keep you posted.

I cant find the blue ray on DZ site, the ZPZ 2006 DVD concert is Hi Def and that plays on Any DVD player.

In this post on Dweezil World, the Dweeze states thusly, about the 2nd ZPZ "dvd" he was editing in Austin:

"....I'm really excited to finish this project and get it out there for all of you with Blue Ray players. It looks amazing in Hi Def. There are some deep blue color tones that are quite pleasing to the eye."
http://www.dweezilzappaworld.com/posts/212-austin

Perhaps he's reconsidering, but in that post anyway, he was pretty clear. I hope he does release it in dvd, because I ain't buying a Blue Ray to watch what amounts to just one release.
