I think it is just wonderful that so many excellent releases have been coming out over the past several years. Thanks Gail and Joe and Anybody/Everybody else involved. Our household really appreciates all the hard work that goes into all of these releases. Please, keep them coming !

p.s. Trendmonger . . . I like your posts :) ( yes, I am being serious ).

I'm actually really looking forward to this one, I found the "Mofo" set contained too much padding & "Lumpy Money" not enough, but the ZFT seem to have struck the right balance here, its nice to have the original album on CD (finally) & just enough bonus selections to make it all the more interesting.

Earlier in this topic I was building the conceptual continuity with a track form this project called "Secret Greasing"

Whose conceptual continuity were you building?

Okay, I finally gave this a proper listen, and I've gotta say it's a solid release. The original album is restored beautifully. It sounds fantastic and has definitely made my 10 year old CD-R obsolete. The bonus tracks are great too. This version of "Love of My Life" in particular is really interesting to hear.

If there's a single complaint, it's that the lovely packaging is a fingerprint magnet. I've had to give it the ol' blow-and-wipe treatment a couple of times.

Got mine today! Have had one quick listen and like what I hear so far. The packaging is way cool. Overall, a first class job and worth every penny!

True.

But instead of ordering it from Barfko, I'll know it'll be cheaper at the merch booth when DZPZ plays here on June 15. So, I'll wait to buy it then...

You're waiting a month and a half just to save a couple dollars?

Not a couple of dollars. Probably more like $10-$15. Because at the DZPZ show, the price of Greasy Love Songs will probably be $20. But if I bought it through Barfko, after taxes & shipping costs, and despite the Canadian dollar being virtually par with the USD right now, the price would come out to nearly $35. And I'm NOT paying $35 for ONE CD.

Also, I'm still going to buy it since I'm a hardcore freak but I know I won't listen to it that much. I'm FAR more interested in the 40th Anniversary P/O edition of Hot Rats - which will probably be the next release...

If they're going to continue the chronological trend they've established, they would need to deal with the Uncle Meat/Burnt Weeny/Weasels period first. But of course what Zappa fan wouldn't be eager for a Hot Rats release.

Chronological, but not every release. Notice the absence of an Absolutely Free collection. Unless plans have changed, Hot Rats is definitely the next FZ audio documentary on the horizon.
