The other day I bought 2 FZ vinyls at a flea market, because I was in the mood to have some more FZ. Actually I didn't need them, but ... hey ... this fucking hunting instinct you maybe have heard from.

I've to confess these vinyls are counterfeits:

1. Weasels Ripped My Flesh with the German rat trap cover. The music is obviously from the CD edition.

2. Roxy By Proxy.

I'm wondering what these vinyls are good for. Is anybody collecting this stuff ? I think I'll stay away from it now.

I've seen Roxy by proxy on vinyl before and even on Amazon but I assumed the people who paid the 1k to get them sorted themselves just chose to put it on vinyl as opposed to CD so I figured there was nothing wrong with that.

I've only got 1 bootleg and it's a yellow captain beefheart bat chain puller. Complete with vaulternative logo and zappa.com on the back. Sounds wonderful and is only missing the bonus tracks.

At least for people who neither own a cd-player nor the opportunity to playback mp3 or other digital formats ;-)

Foolishly assumed it had been legitimately released in that edition in Europe, because it's always European dudes at record fairs who have the album.

Thanks ... I thought counterfeits could be regarded as redundant. Actually I think they are.

No no. Gail expressly forbid any of those suckers who payed $1000 from putting it out on vinyl. But I hope someone did...that is about the only way (I figure) anyone who bought rights could possibly make their money back. But I'd bet you it was just made from a regular cd.
