I've listened to the 4 CD. Is it really necessary for me to also listen to the 2 CD? Why or why not?

There are a few tracks on the 2CD that are not on the 4CD.

The tracks only on the 2-CD are:

Who Are The Brain Police (mono single mix)
How Could I Be Such A Fool (mono single mix)
Hungry Freaks Daddy (basic tracks)
Help I'm A Rock (1970 FZ remix)
It Can't Happen Here (1970 FZ remix)
Watts Riot Demo/Fillmore Sequence
Freak Out Zilofone

Of the four alternate mixes "It Can't Happen Here" is the only one that is very different. "Hungry Freaks" is an intriguing skeletal version with just two rhythm guitars, bass and drums. The Watts/Fillmore track is an FZ edit of a demo version of "Trouble Every Day" with some of the funnier adlibs from the Fillmore 66 gig. "Freak Out Zilofone" is Monster Magnet percussion stuff.

Think that was a bad decision on the ZFTs part, unique material on the 2disc. I felt burned.
Though I guess I ought to thank them as it inspired me to free myself from the completism bug.

Sold off the 2cd version on ebay, followed by beat the boots 1 & 2, now gonna look at the other postuhmous releases I never listen to, sell 'em off.

Good for you. As a serial completist myself I think what you're doing is healthy and to be admired.

Thank you. Is it time you take the plunge yourself?
Start with Mothermania, if ya own it, that's an easy one to ditch. I owned it for 30 years and maybe played it 2x before I finally got rid of it.

EDIT: I suppose it is bad form advising breaking the Zappa habit on a zappa Bulletin Board...so I take it all back. Go crazy, buy everything 3x.
