I picked this tasty 'lil sucker up at The weekend, I went to the Roundhouse specifically to get it - didn't go to any of the shows, regretfully only FZ being alive would've got me in there, anyway I'm digressing I was told by a friend that they had the CD on the merchandise tables so I had to go get it - it was a bit pricey at £40.00, but is well worth it, its well recorded, sounds nice & has a good selection of songs - there are one or two on there I can do without, but thats just my preference, so far highlights for me are:

A pound for a brown - 20 min version with long improv sections
The Little Hse I Used to live in - again features some nice improv sections
King Kong - Great FZ solo in this
Envelopes - features vocals
Dong Work for Yuda - played with a "latin" feel
Watermelon - clearly an early attempt, not fully realised, slightly different tempo, but interesting nonetheless

Overall I would say the CD is a success - I do hope this is the way forward for FZ archive releases.

Since it was I who loved the packaging, I'll try take some images tonight or in the morning with the light. The notes are by Peter Wolf. The discs have a bold London Underground logo graphic with Hammersmith disc 1, Chalk Farm disc 3, and something I don't understand in disc 2. Bobby Brown makes sense now as FZ raps about what it means, there is a Big Swifty vibe happening during King Kong. Envelopes is really good, and FZ cracks up when O'Hearn (?) shouting "Docteur".

My confirmation said expected shipping date December 3, I don't expect it any sooner.

Mine said on or about 11/8/2010.... but Gail may argue that December 3 is "about" 11/8/2010

Ha! No, they had it listed wrong in their system. The original e-mails that went out said the December date but then they revised it and subsequent e-mails gave the Nov 8th, 2010 date. But whatever - it's not like this would be the first ZFT release to hit the streets late. I'll give them a few days extra processing for shoveling the $ from the Hammersmith bucket into the Roxy Bluray bucket fund.... no problem there!

Here's the deal: Music-Today has sent a representative on steam boat to Europe, with the mission of trying to find as many Hammersmith CDs as possible at the ZPZ shows here. First mission accomplished, the representative will take the return steam boat to California, through the Panama Canal, with a sack full of slightly dented CDs. When the mysterious Music-Today agent arrives in LA, a crew of especially trained monkeys will wrap up your packages and send them by the USPS to a sorting office fairly close to you, or at least in a neighbouring state.

(Me I'll probably get a copy in Oslo tomorrow, if the salary's arrived by then...)

I never saw anything about Dec shipping dates - I did however see the shipping on or around the Nov 8th note. I havent received anything saying it was shipped yet either. I just keep holding my breath... it sucks. My eyeballs are about to explode.

I preordered on November 1 and my e-mail (still have it) said it would ship on or around December 3. My guess is that this was a glitch corrected on later pre-order e-mails as Penguin mentions.

Awright, diplomatic, that's wonderful, just make sure you start with the shrink wrap only and then slowly build things up to an orgazmik frenzy, and don't show a balloon And a party hat at the same time!

I'll get it when it arrives. I don't expect anything as such in terms of delivery. But it surely sounds worth the wait.

PS: Why would money from this go into the Blue Ray Fund for Roxy? I though we had established in this Forum that Roxy will only be released when it can be available in 392 bit digital 3D vertical/horizontal surround sound (you have speakers above and below you), and iMAX 10 trillion pixel picture quality (which, of course, means that everybody must have iMAX at their homes). Only then you will feel as if you were there. Ah, I forgot to mention it should also come in Smell-O-Vision. Only then is it in accordance with teh intent of the composer! STINKFOOT!

I believe Peter soloed in Pound For A Brown on this tour. Tommy soloed in Little House.

Peter also had the short piano solo in City Of Tiny Lights that is included in the Baby Snakes film, but was edited out of the Sheik Yerbouti version.
