i love burnt weeny sandwich, but i cant get enough of it. im getting to the point where i might actually start eating those things...
igors boogie, holiday in berlin, aybee see...these more structured compositions are, out of all the varied types of music created by zappa, quite possibly my favorites.
i own 15 albums of his but havent heard anything else like it. or at least, anything that isnt just a snippet...i love brown shoes dont make it (a bit different yes) ,some of lumpy gravy ( i cant get over the length of the spoken dialogue) and also parts of Make a Jazz Noise Here (syn-clavier drives me nuts) but thats the closest ive ever come to finding something similar...
anybody know of something, anything, similar? and preferably without too much syn-clavier
and since ive already asked one question, may as well ask another....wheres the jazz? aside from the period in the early 70s (hot rats, wakka/jawaka, grand wazoo) parts of make a jazz noise here, king kong and some of weasels ripped my flesh, where, if at all, is there more jazz, fusion, or jazz inspired zappaness?
i realize thats already quite a lot of stuff for one artist, but i wouldnt mind some more
regards,
joe
