Nooooo! Why did they fade it??? They could have at least gotten us a complete jam.

Well, all in all. Great solos, funny story. A tad expensive but what the hey.

Yeah, their decision to fade is a bummer but not having heard what happens next, I'll give 'em the benefit of the doubt.

The only thing that pisses me off is an iTunes thing. I just paid $11.99AU for this little sucker at a time when the Australian dollar is worth more than the US dollar.

Wow, that does suck! Are most items in iTunes completely over-priced in Oz then?

Jeez, I hope this is not the new release I've been holding my breath for since April 1 -- Is it yet another case of our typical ZFT agenda: "OK, here we have 160 24-track reels of full concert performances, some of them even digital, that means without tape-hiss, plus DMT AND all the rest of that Synclavier stuff, and here a 20-minute tape segment of FZ loosely talking funny about the Mothers' birthday (taken from a 4-track Scully) --
-- Let's release FZ talking funny." :P ??

Nice EP. Something better could have been released, of course, but I have to admit I enjoy it while it's on. The story is interesting and you can't go wrong with a 1974 "Penguin in Bondage". I hope I'm rightfully seeing it as a sampler of something juicy to come!

The film Mondo Hollywood, referred to by Frank on this release, with soundtrack performed by The Mothers and other groups, is pretty interesting - http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/mondo_hollywood/

On the "Whats New?" page.

Immediately bought the download upon seeing the email.

The good - Roxy era PiB. Great stuff. Sound is great, even for an MP3. The blues jam/story after PiB is entertaining, especially the part about them playing for $7 per man a night for two weeks and all the watered down pitchers of cheap beer they could drink, until then getting fired for not playing radio hits. Some things in the music business never changes, even after all of these years. Glad I bought it.

The bad - Only one song and jam, where the whole show, or run of shows should have been released. $7 for one track is a tad steep. Like Jayp, I think iTunes sucks balls.

Worth getting? Sure. Why not? I'm an obsessive Zappa completionist. How about a CD release of whole show?

RogerDaltreysCape, the art/credits link directs you to a page that has the exact same information and layout as the news bit about Penguin in Bondage on the front page of zappa.com.

Nice treat. Sounds great. Don't know why anyone wd complain about 7 bucks for 26 minutes but go wonder. If it popped up on a blog somewhere everyone wd be drooling over this unique rarity. Cool item.

Love the digital download. No waiting 2 weeks for a plastic disk I don't even want. Excellent.
