Hey everybody,
I recently got the Spanish Press of Hot Rats on vinyl (Reprise Records – HRES 291-35, Hispavox – HRES 291-35, 1971) and noticed, besides the well documented differences between the CD and the vinyl version, that the high tones (mostly the cymbals and a little saxophone and violin) tend to sound more prominently on my right speaker, probably due to the mix. Sometimes it is so obvious, that I think there is something wrong about my vinyl press, but sometimes it all comes together almost perfectly.
I haven't listened to any other vinyl press, so can any of you confirm this? Is this similar on your vinyl version? My version doesn't sound bad at all, but I'm am wondering if this is one of the differences between vinyl and cd versions, since I notice it. Cheers!
