I love the way at the end of the article it says "For more information visit : www.zappa.com" and irony is, there's more information on their site than on zappa.com.

Ya,like a dummy I had to look and it's just the same as it ever was!

I wonder how this would effect The Grand Mothers,Pojama People,P/O,if at all.How many times can you re-release old releases as "new" anyway? I'm glad it's out there though. It was beginning to look like FZ releases were hard to find and thats not a good thing! Hopefully when I have a few extra bucks,I can start back filling my FZ on CD collection with so many titles becoming available at once. 8)

Nice to see confirmation, it's a pretty big deal the ZFT havin' a hand in it.
This basically means they gotta pump it out and deliver big time to pay off that bank loan.
I must admit I do not look forward to re-buying the catalog. But if they make it sound as good as the MOFO Freak Out! I will not be able to resist. 60 albums x 15.00 average = 900.00
Fuck it, my kids can eat jelly sandwiches for the next 9 months.
(take note that I will not give up quality beer or cheap ciggies. The world caters to children these days and I must do my part to reverse that, put 'em to work on daily chores).

I wonder which versions of "Money" and "Cruisin'" they're going to use. Good that it's happening on the 31st of July - it's my birthday, too!

And similarly, will the Uncle Meat be confined to a single disc with all the original tracks or will it be just like the 1987 double with penalty track-age? Honestly, I hope that this "Tengo Na Minchia Tanta" thing will be relegated to the bonus track status on "Ship Arriving" or "Man from Utopia" where it really fits.

It's either the best, or the worst thing to happen to FZ music. Let's see how it turns out.

Are we going to keep a tracklist so we can tell easily which recordings are the best?
What is going to happen with Sleep Dirt, will that be re-released with or without vocals, or both?
The Hot Rats CD is almost a different album from the LP. Will the ZFT use the extra CD-space to offer both mixes?
Will they, for the love of Frank, stop issuing balloons and party hats with each recording?
Will I finally like YAWYI?

Man, I could really use Sleep Dirt without those grating vocals!

Bonny is it the mix or what is wrong with YAWYI?

The mix I had on the CD is terrible. A lot of people said it's the 1995 mix and the later one is OK, but I have the 1998 mix. Later I got a vinyl, but apparently that's the "German pressing" which "sounds terrible" and so I keep on needing new copies of an album I don't like. It's not the most popular stance on this forum, I can tell you, but it's just the way it is: YAWYI gives me a headache.

Haha, BBP, and I can gues why: The early CD remix has such a plenty of high frequencies, and the Chrislu remaster that emphasized high-click bass drum sound that's ruining your nerves, right? And for a punchline: That's what I love them for... hihi!

The lyrics are good though.

I understand now, I will give it a spin since I haven't listened to it in any format for quite some time.

My opinion: on looking back, much of what he did in the '80s is not among his best works. For example I can't stand the '88 recordings anymore – for the arrangements, the performances and how the things are mixed. Trapped in the eighties.

I like MAJNH, but I never liked BTHW. Some of his stupidest songs. I think His '80s output is his weakest. But I do often listen to Jazz from Hell.

I hate how he points towards each next song. A lot of those bridges seem so forced.
Of the 80s, SATLTSADW is my favourite (it was my first non-comp FZ album), and I love TTR, but indeed: once FZ gets the UMRK he starts overproducing. In YAWYI I get intensely bothered with the Ike Willis/Ray White/FZ vocal combo. Dumb All Over and Goblin Girl are tons better on Have I Offended Someone?, Mudd Club is tons better on Thing-Fish...

They should release "Crush All Boxes" officially; I think it also sounds better than YAWYI.

Conehead being the worst of them all (the pointing to it AND the song in general)......the whole thing is so contrived. I don't hate the album, but I usually skip that one.
