BTW jayp, most of the covers have been up for weeks, they just put FO up yesterday and none of the tracklistings have been up for much more than a day or two (US Amazon). Now at least they don't show the new releases with reviews that were for the 1995 releases. I am not arguing, just saying that at least Amazon is providing some help to the prospective purchaser.

wrong.

Why argue? Nonetheless, at least folks can get information.

The samples on UK Amazon prove that WTP Pt 2 will be on the new CD.

jayp has many versions, I have an original vinyl and the '88 Ryko, that's enough.

I search Amazon or Best Buy for FRANK ZAPPA 2012 REISSUES. That pops up a bunch of albums, most of which have 2012 release in the description or elsewhere on the page. A few older versions are interspersed with the 2012's, so it takes some double checking. But it's not hard to figure out which releases are from this latest batch.

I've also noticed that the prices are fluctuating a bit with both Amazon and Best Buy. So it pays to check them out once in a while.

These releases make me wish I could buy a new stereo system........ :(

I've ordered a few from Amazon. Very disappointed that they still put these things in the ugly plastic jewelboxes instead of printing them on cardboard (which saves a lot of space on the CD rack).

Overall they are good, but I do prefer some of the mastering that Frank did, particularly 'Weasels Ripped My Flesh' which sounds a lot better to me as mastered by Frank vs. the 2012 release, which sounds like they didn't try to open up the high end at all thus a lot of fine detail is lost. But for people who wanted "the original vinyl" mixes, they are that.

Listening to Sleep Dirt now and what a difference in hearing the album with the Original drum tracks and NO vocals . I'm another that is going to buy all the titles as $ allows me to .Hopefully they make some $ off this campaign so we can see some new vault releases next year .

some quick review of reissues and whether they are worth buying here: http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/v ... tpoop.html + you can listen to samples on iTunes (Overnite Sensation sounds terrific!!)
My question is, are Chungas Revenge samples on iTunes the samples from the reissue? (still too much digital reverb, or am I wrong?)

Not sure about itunes samples, but Chunga matches the original LP, no added reverb.
