Today I ordered Hot Rats, and was just wondering among the forum who has pre-ordered any of the upcoming releases?

(I also would like to have a post I can visit where people aren't being viciously aggressive)

I haven't ordered any yet....I'm waiting to hear reviews from some of the people on the forum here first.

I sold all my Ryko's and ordered all of the new ones. I have faith that the differences will be a lot more extreme than, say, The Beatles remasters, which are simply a matter of taste.

Speaking of The Beatles Remasters... What version of Let it Be did they include in that. The normal one... or the Let it Be naked mix?

They included the regular Phil Spector version in the stereo box set. I bought the mono set, which only covers their albums up to the White Album.

AF, BWS, WRMF, & HR.

Of the next batch: A, ONS, OSFA, SY, WJ, GW, ST, & ZA.

That's probably it. I've been a fan since '68 but after OSFA got less and less satisfaction from each new release. I got more joy from Frank's concerts than his albums.

That, plus I'm gonna go thru hell explaining to SWMBO why I need to buy these for a third or fourth time...

What's the best price you've seen for these releases? The best price in Ireland I've seen in €9.99 (free delivery).. which is just over $12.

The first 12, BestBuy @ $9.99. Must be 'loss leaders'.
The second batch, pretty much priced the same everywhere, so far.

$9.99 ... That's a pretty enticing price! I know I'm gonna walk into a record store and see all these shiny new Zappa albums on the shelf and I'll buy one just to get that "Buying a Frank Zappa album" buzz!

They all the original single versions on the past masters 2009.what is that naked version sounds like single version with album solo not nothing else mixed overdubed like the original LP.

Edit Movie version not Lp sorry.

I've pre-ordered 8 of the 12 from Best Buy.

These are the four that I didn't pre-order:

Freak Out!: I've got the 1995 CD and MOFO. That's enough for me. I only want the mono mix now.

We're Only In It For The Money: I want reviews of this one before I pull the trigger. If the sound quality is the same as the 1995 remaster and MoFi CD, then I don't want it.

Lumpy Gravy: I want confirmation that the "Oh No" section is in stereo.

Cruising With Ruben and The Jets: Does anyone really need an explanation?

I haven't ordered any yet, but found a blue Bizarre label FEJ71 in my dirty old hometown yesterday. After the discussion about fades and cold cuts I decided that I needed the fading version in addition to my old Canadian vinyl. Will possibly wait until all the 60 CDs are released before I get any, in case they make a complete box with all of them. I have the music!

They're still $13+ on Amazon. So yes... having them available for $10 or less... is a good saving!

None. I can't develop an excitement for spending money on small variations in reverb for music I have known and loved, and still do, for many, many years.

Also, ZFT has made the terms "Pre order" and Zappa incompatible in my eyes. Too many broken promises, to little information and so on. So I'll wait it out. If I hear some great reviews I will, of course, consider buying some.
