If someone told me a year ago that I would of had a chance to buy a limited edition guitar based on the Roxy shows before I had a chance to buy a movie/CD release of new music from the shows, I never would of believed them. :P

It doesn't matter. Whenever it's released, his fans will buy it, next month or 10 years from now.

Yup - and I'll post again between now and its release date!
I agree with you that people will buy it next month or 10 years from now.
I disagree with it not mattering when it comes out. It matters to me.

Of course, the count down may have been to the closing of the license offer and those that coughed up are now all busy doing whatever it takes to prepare for business.

Oh, I assumed the countdown was for the closing of the license offer. As far as the 2nd half of your statement goes.... I'd imagine someone on here would be over-joyed that they received "the tapes" and would have posted a message saying so. Then again, at that sticker price, I'd be charging people $5 just to get a weekly update tweet with how my duplication progress is going - haha!

eventually the music will be available for me to preorder from MusicToday to be shipped in that flimsy cardboard thing so that the cover of the CD is damaged and then I will be glad...

Your post is missing the "BUY IT NOW" button - where do I click?

It just occurred to me to do a little research on YouTube. There's a muso in Melbourne, Jimi Hocking, who's been around for a while and won various accolades as a guitarist. He may not be rich but he's put a few albums out that have done relatively well, he doesn't hurt for work and has made a good living. His YouTube viewings are way less than FZ. You may not be surprised to know that FZ is more popular than Captain Beefheart on YouTube, but he's also more popular there than Ry Cooder and Neil Young. He's also significantly more popular than King Crimson who currently manage a fairly successful internet business.

Hocking's views can be measured in the tens of thousands. FZ's can be measured in the hundreds of thousands and there are many FZ related clips with over a million views. Sheesh, if I had videos with Hocking's level of popularity I'd be delirious let alone what FZ still gets.

Surely the current level of interest in FZ could be identified and nurtured to significant account.
