Their manufacturer must charge by the minute burned on to the disc.
Where are all those Roxy by Proxy alternative releases that we were supposed to see? Anyone else greatly confused by the waste of effort/energy that campaign resulted in?
Any way - back to our regularly scheduled program.... I will continue to look at the hefty sticker price and try to make cost justifications on why I need to pre-order this item.... :P
I'll probably wind up doing so regardless but this gives even more reason for others to snag it otherwise. :|

If anyone here or anyone here knows someone that has bought Roxy By Proxy as an agent for the ZFT already and can beat the ZFT prices. PM me. We'll work out the costs.
I assume y'all will have all the neat little stuff that comes with such a work as this like the ZFT does? Handwritten linear notes and forwards written by someone special to the ZFT/Frank? Like RU or some other cool vibes? Like a vault like FZ's to store it in? Or one enchilada eaten from a taco truck, parked at Bob Spreen's Cadillac, smothered in maple syrup, licked by a passing poodle, then spewed upon with a creamed corn substance similar in texture to an afterword thought by Gary Titone, then passed through Ike Willis' digestive system while holding a pair of zircron encrusted tweezers between his knees! Stuff like that?

I'm confused by your new signature. Is it wise to pre order Roxy knowing that the worst financial disaster since the great depression is descending upon us? Or is that over?

It was a secret Leftist Communist plot by Obama to delay the release of this for the last 10 years since the initial announcement in the bonus features on the Baby Snakes DVD from 2003. The free marketer capitolist society people finally got the go ahead to initially release the 1 percenter $1000 version. The $30 version just now finally trickled down to us 47 percenters.

OMG, I ordered it, and with the shipping etc., it only cost me $972 less than that license. Whew - I was pleased to note that Ruth is doing the liner notes. I have seen her speak, on that Eagle Rock DVD for OS/' and I believe that I will understand what she is saying in the liner notes - what a relief!! 8)

NOT ordering. I refuse to pay $10 in shipping when I can wait until October and get it at the ZPZ merch table. Looking forward to it though.

The shipping plus tax cost for me was $7.34 with a total price of $28.46 with the standard shipping option. I expect that I'll receive my copy a couple of weeks before the show ZPZ plays in my town. If they sell the disc at the show for $25, I'll have paid $3.46 to receive it in advance, about half the price of a beer at the venue. If they sell the disc for $30 at the show, then I'll have saved myself $1.54, or about one quarter of the cost of a beer at the venue. Either way, still cheaper than $1000.

Or just blow it off and spend 18.87 to have the new Jay Z delivered to your door instead.

Eh, on second thought, the extra 9.59 to score the Zappa seems like a bargain now...

Your attempt at comedy is breathtakingly bland. And no, there's nothing confusing about my new sig. Btw, the first depression of our lifetime is not over because it hasn't begun yet. You should pay attention. However, it will in the near future - there will be plenty of other cities like Detroit...

Is it wise to continue spewing claims without compelling evidence or proof like you always do (you know, like how you and many here still believe Capitalism was solely or mostly responsible for the Housing Bubble Crisis, despite the FACT we live in a Mixed Economy and hence if it wasn't for socialistic bailout/protectionist policies that ALLOWED the financial institutions to get away with their scam, we wouldn't be in this mess, since economies, Capitalist or otherwise, with primarily free market principles don't ALLOW that to happen)? Or do you FINALLY have substance behind those accusations?

That's what I thought.

I just read that over there and I'm as excited as you are! I actually just listened to an upgraded version of this show a few days ago. And it might be THE best show from that tour. So let's hope the Idiot Bastard is right and it gets an official release soon...

Oh geesh..here we go again. Does DB ever stop?

......................................................

Anyways, I did a little digging to find the set lists for the Roxy 12/8-10/73 run at the usual sights. Considering the popularity of the shows, there aren't any confirmed definitive song list and order of the three days that I could find. Just bits and pieces from what's been released so far...

From the original Roxy and Elsewhere album - Penguin In Bondage, Pygmy Twylyte, Dummy Up, Village Of The Sun, Echidna's Arf (Of You), Don't You Ever Wash That Thing?, Cheepnis and Be-Bop Tango (Of The Old Jazzmen's Church).

You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1 - I'm The Slime and Big Swifty.

You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 3 - Dickie's Such An Asshole.

You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 4 - parts of Montana.

Classic Albums: Apostrophe (')/Over-Nite Sensation DVD - Montana

http://www.zappa.com/stufftoget/video/roxy.html - Montana and Dupree’s Paradise

The True Story Of 200 Motels - Dummy Up

Baby Snakes (DVD) ("The Roxy Trailer") - Pygmy Twylyte, I'm The Slime, Inca Roads, Village Of The Sun, Don't You Ever Wash That Thing?, Big Swifty, Dickie's Such An Asshole, Dupree's Paradise Improvisations, Penguin in Bondage, T'Mershi Duween, RDNZL, Cheepnis

FZShows, v. 7.1 - 1973 12 ??, Roxy, Los Angeles, CA - 60 min, Aud, B - Cosmik Debris, intros, Pygmy Twylyte (incl. Dummy Up), The Idiot Bastard Son, Cheepnis, Penguin In Bondage, T'Mershi Duween, Dog Meat, RDNZL, Montana, improvisations

http://www.idiotbastard.com/news.htm - "...Roxy Performances of 9 & 10 December 1973: Inca Roads, Penguin In Bondage, T’Mershi Duween, Dog/Meat, RDNZL, Cheepnis & Dupree’s Paradise, King Kong, Chunga’s Revenge."

Question - Does anybody happen know what the set lists song order for each of the 3 dates from Roxy 12/8-10/73 are, or where one might find the lists online?

I am confused. Did the US take over Canada?

On point: Looking good! And I am looking forward to see whether anybody except the ZFT will sell this. Actually, I'll pay $5 extra for a copy from a non-ZFT distributor. Anybody with the guts to put up $1000 for such incomprehensible gibberish deserves a small premium.

Anybody a member of that site? I go there now and then if I have a question about this or that show. Often lists are there the day after a performance. I'm wondering if the site's content is maintained or if anyone who happened to be tripping at a show from July 3 1968 might just think that the entire Mothers show that night consisted of God Bless America and Meow.

... or maybe it did!
