Looking forward to the music, Hate the cover. Hated the Congress cover too. Honestly, I have no idea what people would like about this cover.

That's one hate + one hated and you hate why people wouldn't hate this too.
Why RK thats the most hatefull post I've ever seen from you.

I call that art generic collage'.FZ dabbled in the college' form of art and tryed crossing over with the medium into music.Sorta like Dylan's electric folk. That might explain someone's anane attempt to recreate a generic Zappa art form and use it to sell music.Dumb,I know.....
But the hate RK? The cover just sez: This is where the best music is! 8)

Thats a very sunny way of looking at it, but the thing is... my hate has grown! The colors look like they are chosen for a run-down kitchen. FZ's body just looks inhuman and South Park-ish. The hand and nose don't appear that way because the artist's vision decided that it should be so. Those are the shapes made by someone who is incapable of drawing hands and noses, as they look like the way I would draw them and I can't draw for shit.
If I wanted to be optimistic about the cover, I'd say that I could add up the kitchen-like colors with the spirals that could mimic heating coils on a stove and tie that to the imagery of BWS. Still a dreary cover, but that way it would make a bit of sense.

I don't like it either. It sucks.I think jeddy is right when he sez:

It does look more like JCB than FZ.It's better than the cow (Lather) or train (HO) and Congress, but that's about it.
The love you take is equil to the love you make,or some mop top crap like that. Why get hung-up on the package,it's what's inside that counts.

Look, for the people who rip the music and/or download, what is the difference what the cover looks like. I don't find it that bad. I really shook my head over HO, but the balloon was a nice touch.

I really don't care what the ZFT wraps 'em in, as long as they keep 'em comin' :smoke:

Finer Moments is the recording, intended for vinyl, that was found in the vault exactly as Frank Zappa left it in 1973. I guess you could say it's a prequel to the series, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore launched 15 years later.

FM is probably about getting very close to the edge of perfection in terms of performance - hitting the correct notes, Correctly. It's also about one of a kind performances and the events that occur simultaneously onstage. Imagine all that in the same dimension.”

Actual liner notes (what I posted before was summarized in my words)
Welcome. What we have here is a Welcome Mat. This special invitation comes with a bit of flooring - over by the chrome dinette.
So what we got is some linoleum (and later some vinyl) which we are recycling right here on the floor. Yes. Too late to be wanting
any more. We will just have to be satisfied with the dense if not entirely ecumenical patina which has existed for years: nothing has
changed. This is somewhat about flooring and the navigation thereof. FZ definitely wheelin' and dealin' in his wheelchair rigged to
support an epic plaster cast with a bit of sinister footwear strapped to a modified stirrup - this was the condition the condition was in
when he worked up Just Another Band From L. Waka/Jawaka. GRAND WAZOO and Density of the Fourth Patina (if you're counting)
is/was HUNCHentoot. Who knew? And these Finer Moments. You will not see/hear their like again in this dimension. Lucky for us all
that FZ captured them in the camera of his mind. and in camera in the vault.

That's what the liner notes say.

What say I? - The music is GREAT.
favorites Walking Zombie Music, The Old Curiosity Shoppe, Uncle Rhebus, Enigmas 1 Thru 5, There Is No Heaven..., the Subcutaneous Peril.

Almost sounds like it should be the liner notes to Man From Utopia with The Dangerous Kitchen and all.

I'd say this is somewhere in the top 30 FZ titles...not bad with over 90 titles. Nothing but great music.

Oooooooooh MAN!!!!!!

THIS IS THE SHNIZZ!

Those sound samples are telling me this could become one of my all time favourites!
Taken as a whole it really makes me think of UNCLE MEAT.

Thank you in advance ZFT! This is going to be awesome!

Incidentally, does Sleazette sound like "Get A Little?" (from Weasles....)

I read somewhere that the liner notes are by the graphic guy, Bill Miller - but since it's full of nonsense, it should be Gail again (is it?). Pity - I would have liked to understand...

There are two sections of liner notes - I included the first section as it spoke about the music which is ALL I really care about.

It is then followed by a few pages of the titles and whatever info they have on each track - on the ones that had no detail as to from where - I assumed studio but that is probably wrong. There are also somw vintage photos of Frank and the 10 piece 69 band plus another pic of the 9 piece band (The ten less Lowell) and some other dude - I saw this photo before - I think it's the gentleman identified as Kansas.

There is also a 2 page section of liner notes by Bill Miller...A self proclaimed fan who first saw FZ in the 80's and the film Baby Snakes turned his entire thinking around...Nothing about the contents of this disc - very uninteresting notes IMO - I'd be more interested in what the folks here or at Zappateers had to say about discovering FZ - this essay says nothing to me.

The one last photo (the photo w/o Lowell and with Kansas)

A final page of thanks from the ZFT and some technical/legal mumbo-jumbo.

Back cover has wrap around continuation of the front cover - fireplace and drawing of MOI over said fireplace (Frank in b/w striped shirt - other members. - the wrap around covers 1/2 of back cover.

Other half black with pink mustache with the Edgard Varese quote.

Inside inlay of hard plastic case has the same yellow/brownish tiles with the squizzles as on hte cover artwork behind the drawing of FZ.

From the analog tapes...

Only vocals are on Squeezeit...

Great sounding lp.
