Right because you're so edgy. All gangster, at heart.
While it might be a quote from goodfellas, it is also a racist stereotype, but its ok, I'm the lame asshole.
At least I don't hang out around here thinking I am David Cross, when all I really am is Dave Coulier with the same tired lines over and fucking over and over some more.

Now, can you do that one where you call me a asshole again? That one slays.

I was quoting a scene from a movie. Read the transcription. In the context of how I used it and what the scene is, it has nothing to do with race. IDIOT!

Tommy DeVito: No more shines, Billy.
Billy Batts: What?
Tommy DeVito: I said, no more shines. Maybe you didn't hear about it, you've been away a long time. They didn't go up there and tell you. I don't shine shoes anymore.
Billy Batts: Relax, will ya? Ya flip right out, what's got into you? I'm breaking your balls a little bit, that's all. I'm only kidding with ya...
Tommy DeVito: Sometimes you don't sound like you're kidding, you know, there's a lotta people around...
Billy Batts: I'm only kidding with you, we're having a party, I just came home and I haven't seen you in a long time and I'm breaking your balls, and you're getting fucking fresh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.
Tommy DeVito: I'm sorry too. It's okay. No problem.
Billy Batts: Okay, salud.
Billy Batts: [takes a drink] Now go home and get your fuckin' shinebox.
Tommy DeVito: Mother fuckin' mutt! You, you fucking piece of shit!
Billy Batts: [taunting] Yeah, yeah, yeah, come on, come on, come on!
Tommy DeVito: Motherfucking... He bought his fucking button! That fake old tough guy! You bought your fucking button!
Tommy DeVito: You mother fuck... Fuck! Keep that motherfucker here, keep him here!

Love your clarification here Billy because you hit the nail on the head. Just because it's a quote from a movie doesn't mean it's not racist.

UGH. You're a complete dumbbell.

Which is all well and good.
Do tell, where did you make reference to that in your 100K usages of it?
Exactly.
I don't care the context within the movie, it is still a racist stereotype that you perpetuate ad naseum.
I'm not calling you a racist, but that comment is a racist comment, period.
And if you are quoting something, you should, you know, put qoute marks around it.
Otherwise, its just words from your lips.
You should own it, like it owns you.

NOPE, I'm quoting a movie and nothing more. You are a stupid fuck.

It's not words from my lips, stupid. It's text on a screen.

awww Zut, how nice of ya! :)

Getting back to THE MOVIE - what's the consensus, do they release it right away as DVDs or do they try limited theater runs. I would think they could get something going there in NY, LA, Chicago, maybe a few other cities in US or Europe where FZ still has a strong following. But it would have to be a very limited run, The Metallica movie soon to be released, and I am no fan but recognize they have a large fanbase, can make money in a wide release, but not FZ.

You are just as good at quoting something as you are at insults.
My two year old can come up with a better dig than fuck you mother.
And you call me lame.

Yeah, that's right.
I actually thought about it.
If you believe that, then you are as smart as you are funny.

The quote was taken out of context because it had no link to the source it came from so it came across as bizarre and racist but I don't think the intention was there.

You too bring up a great point. Having not watched the movie for the last decade, I had forgotten about the subtleties of the context there. All of the same, that line is going on 3 tours old.

Now we're arguing semantics - not unlike the lengthy threads with discoboy. You are absolutely correct that the intention in the movie was not racist, but it still doesn't mean that quoting a movie makes something no racist (which is what I said there). But alas, whatever, you've written me off as a complete dumbbell. I'll be sure to add that into my resume/CV.

shine box = racist? never in a million years would I have thought that. That was a job a kid could aspire to, even in my day. It was all about the entrepreneurial spirit. What Woody Allen movie is it where he's shining the gangster's shoes and accidentily spits on his pants leg? Classic scene.

Wait a sec... did GZ change her mind? I thought she said a couple years ago that it was intended to be a theatrical release. Personally, I was hoping for The Music Box in Chicago. I always like theaters with the starlight ceilings.

Arkay, that would be perfect. And you're absolutely right, she did say that it would be a theatrical release. (she says lots of things)

I'm confused. How is "go home and get your shinebox" racist? Which race is being discriminated against?

It's classism.

Either way, the guy who made the shinebox comment in Goodfellas ended up murdered in the trunk of a car so I don't get why "go home and get your shinebox" is a cool thing to say.

It is my experience that the smaller a company is the more they care about being trustworthy. BECAUSE they are not a huge company, they can make personal comments, personalised homepage, BECAUSE of the small size they can control the whole process, BECAUSE they are small they can easily show that we (the customers, music-lovers, etc.) are close to them, are important to them. Small companies are friendly. Okay, it's only MY experience, maybe its not general.. ;-)
