In all fairness, the ZFT is carrying Frank's torch quite well here. He continuously announced the release of various record projects, some of which never even materialized, and some which got way delayed.

In any case, I stopped pre-ordering after MOFO.

When it comes, I will in all likelihood order it. But until then, I don't care anymore.

The pre-order model didn't exist, at least not in a big way, back when FZ was working so the comparison doesn't really make any sense. People are annoyed because many sent their money ONE QUARTER OF A YEAR AGO and have not received the courtesy of being informed as to the reasons for the delay.

If not having that $20 for 3 months is really hurting you that bad then you have bigger problems than a CD that's been delayed.

Awesome, send me $20 and I'll give it back to you in 3 months then.

Items in this department are available for pre-order and will ship on or around December 31, 2013.

If it was just $20 I would have preordered and not sweat it. But it's $30. For one damn CD

not sure if you are talking to me...I don't really care all that much about the delay but it's obvious that all the zft has to do is send out an e-mail (a 5 minute effort?) thanking people for their patience and they wouldn't alienate so many customers. ha ha, and now they have Road Tapes 2 ready to ship...

When the pre-order page went up, I was thinking, "Hey, wait a minute. Aren't there going to be other vendors providing this? Wasn't that what all that licensing bullshit was all about? I'll hold off."

Then, Road Tapes #2 gets announced. So, I figure, how about I just wait until the order page goes up for that and I'll order both together to save on shipping. I mean, sure, all you happy people that pre-ordered would have your Roxy By Proxy a few weeks before I do, but so what? I'll still be getting it and save a few dollars to boot.

And now, here we are...

Road Tapes #2 is allegedly shipping and Roxy By Proxy allegedly isn't. Went ahead and placed my order today. Saved myself $5 in the process. Now, I guess, I have to wait until Roxy By Proxy ships before I get my Road Tapes rather than the other way around. Oh, well. I supppose, that's what I get for bundling.

Of course, nothing new here. I remember listening to my 2-disc MOFO (fazedooh) while some of you poor suckers were still waiting on your 4-disc, beach ball-smelling, disc-cracking digipak MOFOs.

Just another day on Zappa.com.

That was a joke that, sadly, could become reality.

That would be anywhere from $26 to $37 per disc today depending on which value scale you use, the higher is more realistic... :smoke:

Agreed. I was not aware of this when I made the analogy with Frank's mane canceled and delayed projects. I could not fathom that you actually PAY for a preorder. Glad I don't do it. I often make preorders on Amazon, but there you are, of course, first billed when your order ships.

BTW, I am not whining. I am fine with how things are run. There are good stuff released in a bumpy fashion, but good stuff does come out!

What the hell is this shit? You can buy new Barfko Swill items from LiveNation aka Clear Channel mailorder with a better discount on shipping than Musictoday? I just mentioned these 2 CDs at another music forum, and this was brought to my attention.
Too late, I already placed my order thru musictoday. I don't trust LiveNation anyway, so this is suspect.

God damnit, why doesn't the ZFT dump MusicToday altogether, and go with a legit mailorder business, like http://www.indiemerch.com ?
