This is good news, I've wanted something with Ponty for a long time.

I'm gonna wait to see if it is at the merch table at the show tonight, to try and save
some on the S&H.

When is Roxy expected to ship, first week of November or December? I'd like to order both Roxy & Road Tapes together, but not if Roxy ship date is December. Will wait and see a few days.

Roxy by Proxy is now expected to ship on Nov. 8th. What is this the FIFTH delay..?

I'm going to wait to order both together to save on Music Today's atrocious shipping costs...

Ordered! :) Came to $48 and change after shipping-tax with RoxyProxy CD too. So RT2 is a double disc, is RBP a double too? If not I hope it's a 70+ min disc for $21.12.

"Presenting 75' 49" of musical mayhem and a voluminous booklet jacked with liner notes (no trivia here) by the redoubtable Ms Ruth Underwood. What’s on the CD? Never-before-released Frank Zappa master recordings from the Roxy Performances of 9 & 10 December 1973: Inca Roads, Penguin In Bondage, T’Mershi Duween, Dog/Meat, RDNZL, Cheepnis & Dupree’s Paradise, King Kong, Chunga’s Revenge.”

That's what she sed.

If King Kong, Dupree's, & Chungas are long & improv heavy, I could see that tracklist going over an hour which would be fine with me. If there are more songs, it'll be a nice bonus.

I wouldn't bet on it. Dupree's alone usually ran over 20 minutes that year.

Okay, let me know if it becomes available at ZPZ shows, I might go and fetch it when it comes to my country.

hell yes. it is going to be a mother fucker too.

it's a mix of songs from 3 shows that replicates the flow of a full set based on show #3. totally killer.

I envy you for being so in the know! Of course I have nothing but good expectations, after all this is the European tour edition of the Mothers avec JLPonty!

I initially thought it would be a full show too, just as RT Venue 1 was (okay, save for occasional tape flips that were replaced by door slams, but I accept it as necessary, considering that tape has always been a zero-sum commodity, the more it runs the sooner it will end), or maybe two full shows, considering they played more than one. But it was a surprise to learn that they also played a show on 24th of August. So I can only hope that the music is optimised as much as possible. Remember, Frank did opt to optimise the music even with the Helsinki 74 live album (though it is questionable whether or not there was a second version of Helsinki '74 Dupree's available that isn't as disappointing as the one actually released). Though it could always be that the version of, say "Dupree's" that's on Road Tapes 2 is, rather than the one containing the best solos, instead the one not affected by any tape flip situations. :)

Got the notice, mine was shipped 10 PM or so East Coast time last night.

I so remember watching JLP play in Princeton that spring...

not the same thing, dope. this is a compilation put together to resemble a FULL SHOW all from the same ERA. What I said I didn't want in the other thread was single tracks.

Good for you, and I get that. I was bemoaning the ZFT's business model, not asking for 'the hits'
