That's how I see it too clean, but Frank's oft-returned-to homage to do-wop and blues changes kept most of his work (through the '70s anyway) kept him mostly in the rock idiom.

Did FZ invent rap? I don't really think so, but...
'White Lines' (grandmaster flash / melle mel) has similarities to St Alphonsos Pancake Breakfast (from 0:50-1:00ish).
and as an aside...
'Ring It' (white stripes) has similarities to Cheapnis.

First to have a paying customer launch him from the stage.

Yeah, I remember the night John Lennon was murdered. I was listening to the radio, and someone called it "the first rock and roll assassination."

I remember thinking it was very nearly the second....

You would have to go much farther back for that. The Last Poets, spawning Gil Scott-Heron really refined the Beat Poets of the fifties.

Subterranean Homesick Blues first early rap? (1965)
I believe the early auctioneers were rapping out the items weren't they?

As someone who attended many livestock auctions growing up, I would agree with that statement.

Produced claymation video 12 years before Peter Gabriel.

Played Mark Knopfler licks before Mark Knopfler.

Actually, the first claymation movie was produced in 1908 :)

Nope. "Subterranean Homesick Blues" was recorded January 14, 1965; "Watts Riot Demo" is listed as "probably" Fall 1965. Anyway, Dylan's song was an admitted rip-off of Chuck Berry's "Too Much Monkey Business" from 1956.
