They have been seeming a bit more confident of late...I'll go with first week on March. March 4. Course it'll probably be late April

I'll go with last week in March. If we're playing exact date I say March 28.

I'm not so much interested in a date but more-so interested how many fans continue to stick with pre-order and support the project before it's bootlegged. Joe's Camouflage is a fine example of how quick someone was illegally streaming it. I don't need to single out any individuals here but it's more-so the state of Illicit File Sharing and Streaming that can make project feasibility a nightmare for the ZFT and all the fans that continue to support the projects legally and honestly.

This one is a special project, I would hope all that pre-ordered this one have far more faith than dwindling interest due to the length of time it is taking to get it to market. If there is a hell it awaits the bootlegger.

Because obviously, the worst thing a human being could possibly do is download mp3 files without paying anyone (aside from their ISP, that is). If only Donovan had appeared on their very own computer screen with words of peace, love, and eternal cosmic wisdom... Leading them... Guiding them... To the barfko-swill store. Just STUFF IT, Trendy!

But on the ACTUAL topic at hand, here.... As much as I'd love it to come out tomorrow, the way things are going, I feel like we'll be lucky to get it by the start of summer months.

ineptitude makes project feasibility a nightmare for ZFT. I can't think of another artist (or representative of one's legacy) that could consistently cock things up as much as ZFT

And what makes this project special? RBP is a CD. It isn't hard to make CDs

The perpetually delayed release date is nothing to do with bootleggers. No matter when it is eventually released there will be pirate sites sharing it P2P within days, maybe hours, it is the 21st Century, it may be wrong but it is reality.
The real problem here is that many of us parted with our cash 9 months ago on the understanding we'd get our goods around September. We've had no explanation as to why there has been a delay, perhaps if there had been an explanation there would be a bit more goodwill.
The delay will not make me want a bootleg instead, why would it? I just want my package to arrive with RBP, RT2 & JCAMO.
If any other seller treated me like this I'd be ripping them to shreds but as a lifelong Zappa fan this situation just makes me feel depressed, would it really be so difficult for ZFT to communicate coherently with us?

My sentiments exactly...

Personally i am getting pretty fed up with all their so-called information, delays and what not.
I have ordered Road Tapes 2 and RBP on the 10th of november and nothing happened since.

"It isn't hard to make CDs" - priceless

It isn't hard to buy it legally.

Barfko/Music Someday now says 2/21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy, was that surprising!

Remember when FZ released an album two months after recording it live?

Yes there wasn't any major packaging issue to hold things up a bit o' scribble and out the door....how many times do you think all the delays with the ZFT releases have been for bogus packaging/art work BS?!

Just remembering....

Ineptitude can take shape in a variety of ways. While the process has taken a long time, it is only in that where ineptitude could possibly apply. I don't think the average fan is crying ZFT ineptitude. I would guess that most fans minds that are getting tired of delays, if one's main concern is being tired of delays, where some are spinning in negativity over $21.12, well there are far more problems in the world. I am more concerned of how few fans buy records.

I for one do not view the production side of this release, or any ZFT release as inept, but then again, I am a paitent man. I am highly confident that Roxy By Proxy will be an amazing audio look into a portion of landmark performances. As we navigate ourselves to the audio, these performaces are as much a statue, a holy grail if you will, Aural NLightenment as compared to that which lies at the foot of a libary in Baltimore. Not that there is anything wrong with the bust of FZ in Baltimore, but the physical statue is a symbol, the audio is what it is, it goes beyond the physical matter of a cup to drink from that is made out of gold.

All of the poshumous releases that the ZFT have put out are a testement of truth. The truth is in the music. How long it takes to get to market is not about ineptitude. How few support it is the so-called ineptitude of consumers, those that lack an honest way of life or those that just don't care about buying records, so few with good will towards the composer. ZPZ concert numbers are one factor of how very much fans around the world are interested in Frank Zappa. For fans of old, and newbies, this CD release is a high radar item, but then again it's a catch 22 because of a lack of integrity in many fans.

Be mindfull to the 2,500 or so names that are printed inside Official Release#70 FZ:OZ. Pre-sales for that were for several months and pre-sales did not even reach 3,000. Some folks want to blame lack of promotion but as time has moved on, this domain, ZPZ touring, and but also, having Mitch Schneider Organisation as a publicist should be enough to get the message out. The message is out there, how many have purchased into pre-ordering this release is an entirely diferent question. There should be no question of the message is out there. By this time, in general, folks that are going to want to support pre-sale will or they won't. I hope more pre-orders trickle in but I just have to wonder how many pre-orders are happening.

This is not my company, but as much as people want to bring up things like kickstarter, with this project if it were my decision, I would consider making a public sale offer, where the pre-order would read, when pre-order sales numbers reach, let's say 3,000, that the product would manufacture and ship shortly there-after.

Once again, Trendy turns a good thread into a diatribe on insulting FZ fans, once again blaming the fans for anything wrong with the ZFT.
Ill vote wayyyyy crazy... Feb 21.

It's not coming out, ever. There will be no explanation from ZFT.

Get over it.
