Zoot Allures '82 live?
Has to be from Europe '82, probably FZ mixed/edited for a potential single.

Cosmik Debris '73? Same thing I reckon.

Crap :P . I was just thinking yesterday how awesome it would be if there was an announcement this weekend for a CD release of one of the '74 Mothers 10 yr. Anniv. shows, which would now be an actual 40th anniversary. No, more unnecessary download songs instead.

Seeing as it the 50 year anniversary of the Muthas, I really expected a monster release - UM box or some such commemorative release. UM would be perfect for the Muthas - their best IMO

Helpful Hints : Make sure your Java is updated before downloading. If you have ad-block plus on Firefox - you'll have to allow the pop up for the download.

When Zoot Allures downloaded - it dropped into my Zoot Allures album in my library which made it hard to find at first.

Overall - we've heard these songs before, but they're still pretty damn good. I love the mix on ZA. The bass and drums are punchy and a there's ripping Zappa guitar solo over a reggae vamp. PIB - sounds like an early version. No background vocals on the chorus. I like hearing Bruce's Trombone in the background. When it gets to the "I wrapped a newspaper 'round my head ", it has a different feel than other versions we've heard.

These are two popular songs in the Zappa canon and for good reason. Downloads are cheap. Just get them already...

Of course, it is a required purchase after all - as is any FZ release. BTW - it took me a bit to download as well for the reasons you state. I have Windows 8.1 with Firefox. Had to allow Java to set itself up, after that, no worries. I just did a Get Info when I added the files to iTunes to locate the correct file. - I have several Zoots and Cosmiks! I just checked the date and timing, that did it.

Goddamn it. It absolutely will not download for me. Using Safari, downloaded the latest Java plug-in especially so I could run their stupid downloader. No dice--it does three "retries" and then gives an error message.

Four days later--had to wait until I got back to the office so I could try it on a PC. Downloaded in a jiffy on Explorer.

I had the exact same problem, but I was able to download them using the latest 64-bit version of Chromium for OS X (https://storage.googleapis.com/chromium ... me-mac.zip).

Wait, if Cosmik Debris is from Helsinki 73.... can it be sequenced into RT venue 2?

that's why i always download to a separat file and then use mp3tag (the best programm to change mp3tag) to correct the "wrong" tag's.
so this 2 songs have now a own album called "mothers day 2014", and in the "kommentar" are all the info about the bandmember

I wouldn't mind cleaning up/maintaining their site a bit... for free even.
I'm not sure who to contact about this though...

Cosmik Debris ends with Frank saying 'Thank You' during the fade out. Village of the Sun (the first track on Disc 2 of RT) begins with the same 'Thank You'.

The tracks can be crossfaded together seamlessly to make an extended version of RT2.

Does anyone know yet where the version of Zoot Allures comes from?

The solo is certainly from this show. As far as the opening section, one person on Zappateers believes it is from June 11 Frankfurt while another said it was edited between Frankurt and June 19 London.

Does anyone know the original purpose of this version of Zoot Allures- possibly Them or Us or ThingFish? With overdubbed drums it seems like it could have been considered for a studio release back in the mid 80's.

Also looking at this as a single- Cosmic Debris wraps up Road Tapes 2 nicely, is this new version of Zoot Allures a precursor to a future/next release.
