FZ is one of the most greatest guitarrists I know.

Another good one is Otomo Yoshihide, I got a doenloaded album with one of his noise bands called Ground Zero, some have seen me posting about them before. On that particular album there is a solo in a "song" called Paraiso - 1 and that solo is beautiful. ;)

-/dr_grogg

I don't come here often, but I checked in and saw this thread. And I must say, you are a complete idiot.
Who the hell are you to difine music? Who are you to tell us what music is?

If you would read any music encyclopedia you will find out that Frank is aknowledged as one of the greatest guitarists of this century.

Though, If you've read "the real Frank Zappa book" he says he actually aint' much of a guitar player. He doesent see himself as a virtouse in anyway. As he said, "a virtouse could play anything, I can only play what I know." - And still, hes one of the greatest.

i think it sucks that people doubt that Frank was a great guitar player. i mean, Black Napkins does it for me.... but its like drummers arguing whether or not Ringo was a great drummer. he was sloppy as shit as far as drummers go. besides, you cant compare anything to the technique of today. back then it wasnt about sitting there with a click and getting all your 64th notes within milliseconds of the beat. sometimes you dont need incredible technical proficiency to make your instrument say what you want it to say. i would even go out on a limb and say a lot of the guys i hear that are incredibly technical sound soul-less. they sound like theyre practicing.

bottom line is frank did what he wanted to do on the guitar. whoever wrote that article is an asshole. and if hes spanish then hes an assholé.
