Kiss' Gene Simmons co-wrote the track "Waiting for the Morning Light" with Bob Dylan, while the late Frank Zappa is listed as co-writer of "Black Tongue." The recording of the latter includes the late artist's vocals and guitar, as well as contributions from Zappa's wife Gail, and his children Dweezil, Ahmet and Moon.

Simmons says he also plans to build a song around an unused Zappa riff
titled "Black Tongue". "The plan is for [Zappa's children] Dweezil, Ahmet, and everybody to play on it, and to take Frank's voice and create a brand new song. It's very dark, very sort of KING CRIMSON, 'In the Court of the Crimson King'-kind of sound, with 7/8 time."

http://www.mk-magazine.com/news/6-12-03/7.html

I'm FAR from being a Kiss fan, but that sounds like it could be pretty cool!

The FIRST album I ever begged my parents to buy me was KISS Rock and Roll Over. The LAST album I bought was over the weekend on eBay. Frank Zappa/Mothers of Invention Freak Out arrived today with the original $3.75 price sticker still attached. Seems like one of my next purchases will be a Gene Simmons CD just to hear the Frank Zappa track! Weird little circle that is.

This is probably the closest the ZFT will get to making an official release this year. Kinda pisses ya off, doesn't it? >:(

It's only April. What makes you think there won't be any official product this year? Last year brought us Halloween and Baby Snakes.

Frank ask something like "Did anybody dance ?". ;D

So, "Alright kids, here's a real rock 'n' roll song.", for a 7/8 time, recalls-me Frank's irony.

Well, I am a massive Kiss fan fan, as well as an FZ fan, and Ive heard this track and its very cool. Kinda like Zoot / Overnite era Zappa. Its an interesting tune, if I were not a Kiss fan Im not sure Id recommend buying the entire album just for Black Tongue, however...
