2 full length, highly desirable releases in 2014...
the gosh darn CHEEPNIS movie
and more (single downloads?)

really can't complain...but I want another, too...

search for the goebbels/zappa perfect strangers album just released. it's great, and it will get me to number 100, whenever that goes down.

It seems quite normal that there's a pause in new releases that can last up to basically a year. It's possible there could be a Road Tapes Venue 3 coming out around the time of Halloween, if this is indeed intended as an annual series. Even so, expectations for release no. 100 are incredibly high and it's really a make it or break it, when it comes to meeting these expectations.

I'd be happy if Road Tapes #2 just came back into print...I was about to buy it, and it's not available right now.

But basically, I hope good live stuff keeps coming out.

Rage And Fury would be a suitable choice. Seeing Varese was FZ's gateway into 'different' music.

Thanx Sterbus. But, shit, is that the Theater Release or a DVD or both? WTF does "soon" mean around here any more? Hell, what does "completed" mean any more? Ugh.

Just for fun, someone should post a comment over there asking "What's the Original FZ Roxy movie??"

I wondered about that too but that quote is taken out of context. Before that, Dweez talks about his own Roxy release from the ZPZs.

Theater release would be awesome but very unlikely especially here in England. I do hope for it though.

Hello Zappa forum! I'm back, I was in a school trip for a week. I'm very excited. I saw some live jellyfish!!

Why don't they realease Dance Me This instead of the Roxy film? I think we had enough Roxy for a while. Or Uncle Meat 45th anniversary project object.

Gotta be Uncle Meat, my fave as the BEST of MOI...I will settle for a FZ/CB release, old friends and all. That would tie in with the Rhino release of Decals/Spotlight/Spot/Extras box set coming out in November. Logically though, UM should be 100, expanded CDs with DVD of the film. - unless...unless..it is one of the already completed projects Mr. Z had already wrapped up and done! OK, we have the Halloween and birthday projects hopefully as well. Folks that be bitchin about not enough releases, FZ has had more releases per year than most folks do in 4 years or more. I understand THE MAN is a true addiction, so bring it on!

I searched for it and found some info I hadn't seen before. What is this large work "Surrogate Cities"? I hadn't heard that title before. Did I just happen to forget a large FZ composition or what? Google only brings more links for that Goebbels cd.

One of them had the following info:

The Suite for Sampler and Orchestra is from his large work “Surrogate Cities,” a fable of the modern city. It draws inspiration from Baroque music, Jewish prayer chants, and industrial noise. In the composer’s words, it is “an attempt to approach the phenomenon of the city from various sides, to tell stories of cities, expose oneself to them, observe them; it is material about metropolises that has accumulated over the course of time.”

Thanx Manx.
