@ Gray_Ghost I know what it was called, that was my point. I was asking aside from the name, what did the content have to do with Xmas? I could dig it out and play it again I guess, but I was just asking on the fly - the momentum's gone out of this thing now.

Poly, allow me to dig it out for you.
The content gives two nods to xmas:
Track One: Mormon Xmas Dance Report
1:51 of GZ asking FZ to describe (which he does) a Mothers Xmas gig at the Mormon recreation hall in Pomona.
Track 10: Mousie's First Xmas 0:56 of electronica off of an ancient demo reel....

Definitely one for the completionist..

Joe's XMasage:

1. "Mormon Xmas Dance Report" 1:51
2. "Prelude to "The Purse" 2:24
3. "Mr. Clean (Alternate Mix)" 2:04
4. "Why Don'tcha Do Me Right?" 5:01 (cool, laidback early version)
5. "The Muthers/Power Trio" 3:15
6. "The Purse" 11:38 HAHAHA (funny stuff)
7. "The Moon Will Never Be the Same" 1:10
8. "GTR Trio" 11:21  (great stuff, period)
9. "Suckit Rockit" 4:11
10. "Mousie's First Xmas" 0:56
11. "The Uncle Frankie Show" 11:42

Not bad + you get some nifty pictures of Frank looking like Stanley Jason Zappa, with and without a hat 8)

According to IINK, it was actually FZ's first wife, Kay Sherman. And I seriously doubt it was a Mothers gig he was describing, as the "Mormon Xmas Dance Report" recording pre-dates the formation of the Original MOI by at least two years.

i see any downers is up there too. interesting how it differs from the tour version, it's sort of like halfway between the studio and 75 tour version.

Although the vocal on "Any Downers" sounds vaguely like both Bozzio and Walley, I think it is Camarena. He seems to understand the point of that song (whatever it is) more than Brock who took over the part for the 75 tour.

I have to disagree Milt. The Joesage thing is about him going into the vault and gathering various items of interest to him. Sometimes those items might be just one tape in its entirety like Joe's Menage, but Joe's Xmasage is not about a gig, it's about a period and has a theme. I'm sure there are more themes worth investigating in the vault where there might only be one or two tracks each from several different sources worth putting together.

If not, I don't care, it is what it is, but if there are still some isolated gems in there I hope Joe keeps on gathering them up.

I agree poly and I hope Joe Traver's is doing that right now. He is The Vaultmiester, so any of Joe's 'age' coming out is like a little gem. Let's hope there are lots more of them too.
