ImageWONDERFUL MUSIC BY VIVALDI PERFORMED BY EUROPA GALANTE, WITH DIRECTION BY FABIO BIONDI. CONCERTI PER MANDOLINI. I'M A BIG FAN OF MANDOLIN MUSIC AND THIS IS JUST GREAT. ALSO, ANYTHING YOU CAN FIND BY VIVALDI FROM THE ACADEMY OF ANCIENT MUSIC. FRANK USED AN MANDOLIN ON "THE MAN FROM UTOPIA" ALBUM, AND SO MUCH OF HIS MUSIC SOUNDS GREAT PLAYED ON MANDOLIN, ANY OTHER ALBUMS WHERE HE USE THE MANDOLIN?

It's on Transparency

Picked it up on amazon.de for €25 plus s&h, but the U.S. mothersite doesn't have it listed, strange, that is - 'cause they do have quite a number of other Transparency titles

Dustygroove or rermegacorp have it in stock, with price tags ranging from $35 to around $42, not bad for 6CDs, either

Sonics are quite alright, just about Fondation Maeght Vols 1 & 2 level

6-CD Boxed Set of 2 complete shows recorded live at Slug's Saloon, NYC, in the summer of 1972. Over 6 hours of music!

Even though Sun Ra and the Arkestra played at the legendary NY venue Slug's Saloon nearly every Monday night for five years, there is no documentation of their many shows there ~ until now. This deluxe, hand assembled six-CD set has two complete shows totaling six hours from June and August 1972. This is the group still into their psychedelic excursion back into their jazz roots with a newfound vengeance. A completely raucous blast of Sun Ra energy.

Exquisitely mastered audio, packaged in a custom case with ultra-gorgeous never-seen color photos of Sun Ra, and done specially for this release for the first time the exact complete track listings as provided by Christopher Trent (co-author of 'The Earthly Recordings of Sun Ra').

These CDs are factory replicated with excellent audio quality.
ARTISTS
Sun Ra and his Arkestra: Akh Tal Ebah, Marshall Allen, Danny Davis, John Gilmore, Elmoe Omoe, Danny Ray Thompson, Lex Humphries, Hrry Richards, James Jacson, Stanley Morgan, Alzo Wright, Russell Branch, June Tyson, Clifford Jarvis

(and from dustygroove.com:) A massive amount of music from the Sun Ra Arkestra -- recorded at the legendary Slug's nightclub on two different nights in 1972! As with some of the other Transparency box sets on Ra, the presentation here is amazing -- a really full picture of the Arkestra at work, with all tracks recorded during the case of each night -- building things up in an amazing way, shifting through familiar themes and wonderful improvisational moments! The first performance is from June 7, and features Ra, Marshall Allen, Danny Davis, John Gilmore, Danny Ray Thompson, James Jacson, June Tyson, and others -- on titles that include "Scene N Take N", "They'll Come Back", "Discipline #?", "Theme Of The Stargazers", "Enlightenment", "Love In Outer Space", "The Shadow World", and a number of untitled tunes! The second performance is from August 19 -- and features Ra, Kwame Hadi, Akh Tal Ebah, Marshall Allen, John Gilmore, Eloe Omoe, Clifford Jarvis, June Tyson, and the "Space Ethnic Voices". Titles include "At First There Was Nothing", "Strange Worlds", "Percussion Episode", "Calling Planet Earth", "Angels & Demons At Play/Watusi", "Outer Space Is A Pleasant Place", "Discipline #27", "I'll Wait For You", "Space Is The Place", "Discipline 33", "Why Go To The Moon", and "Stardust From Tomorrow". 41 tracks on 6CDs! (Please note: This IS a professionally manufactured box set, not CDRs.)

I've still got some ugly gaps (especially the early ones).

Hey doug, looks like the sound quality is particularly nice on this one. Got to have it.

(Audio Source: Quarter Inch Reels

DGM Audio Quality Rating: Five stars

'In reconstructing this concert Alex “Stormy” Mundy has done a remarkable job given the technical challenges facing him. “I managed to sync up the solos with the loops which were on separate reels. The only guide that I had was that you could hear the loops from Robert’s guitar pickup when he wasn’t soloing.'
)

8) He he, love that.
