A couple months ago, I bought both Hot Rats and Ship Arriving... on vinyl, but they are currently up on my wall, due to my lack of a turntable.

I got the EMI versions of "Shiek Yerbouti"

It completely slays the other versions imo.
The guitar solos that sound buried on the rykodisc releases shine like jewels on the emi version and you get the un-butchered I'm So Cute as well. 8)

Well, I pre-ordered Trance-Fusion from CdUniverse.
So I guess that counts. :D

It's amusing but you really need to be careful with playing them cos they break easily.

You Are What You Is

I found it a little bit boring: nothing to do with other "eighty" FZ works such as Tinsel Town Rebellion, Baby Snakes or Them Or Us.

Maybe I have to listen to it one more time...

you said that it's like a free sampler... I dis-agree it's a good album to listen after w/jwk , grand wazoo & quaudiophiliac. warm your ears with these three album and ID makes it nice, opposite from simple free sampler album ...

Got lucky and only picked it up on Amazon for 20 bucks a few weeks ago. Usually it's up around $89 (!) and when I got it there was a "$69.99" sticker stuck. Don't know what makes this one so much more expensive than the others.

I managed to get some bargains today in a second hand music shop about a 10 minute walk from where I live that I didnt even know existed! It's literally filled with boxes and boxes of second hand vinyl! I was in heaven! Anyway, I dug around for ages, and found...

Zappa "True Glove"
Image

A Side - "In France" and "Be In My Video" (taken from "Them Or Us")
B Side - He's So Gay (taken from "Thing Fish") and "Won Ton On" (previously unreleased)
It cost me £3.

"Man From Utopia"
Album for £3.

"Tinseltown Rebellion"
Album for £4.

"Rare Meat" (A Six Song Mini Album)
Image

1. Baby Ray and The Ferns - "How's Your Bird"
2. Baby Ray and The Ferns - "The Worlds Greatest Sinner"
3. The Heartbreakers - "Every Time I See You"
4. Bob Guy - "Dear Jeepers"
5. Bob Guy - "Letters From Jeepers"
6. The Heartbreakers - "Cradle Rock".

Tracks recorded circa 1962/63. This cost me all of £6.

Good stuff, Aspy.

It's always an exciting experience when you'll find some good albums for less money. Better than buying a new car or stocks ! That's why I got a lot of fine albums and an old car and no stocks. :)
