But don't get them individually...get the box, for the fancy packaging, and the "gifts".

They are already waiting for me. Box one and two, with all in. All my OMBs came as original and almost mint condition, I got the shirt, the poster and all promo stuff... I am a proud owner now.

Forget it!

No, serious. Is there a beret on BTB? Nice!. It will be waiting for me until early 2011 when I will actually purchase them from the same Zappa fan ho sold me the OMBs.

I won the Beat The Boots II version of Disconnected Synapsis on Ebay. Now all I need is the BTBs II versions of Tengo Na Minchia Tanta, Electric Aunt Jemima, Our Man In Nirvana and Conceptual Continuity to have all of the official BTBs CDs.

Imaginary Diseases. And what a treat it's been. First FZ I've bought since Halloween was released. It made me go out and buy some more-waiting on HO and Philly 76 to come any day now.

Just picked up The Old Masters Boxes 1, 2 and 3 for $235! They are all mint condition but box 2 is missing Hot Rats and Weasels Ripped My Flesh

Hot Rats and Weasels Ripped My Flesh on 1986 Re-issue vinyl, but still on Barking Pumpkin :D
My local record shop just got the ENTIRE Zappa catalogue on vinyl about two weeks ago, some bloke bought the whole thing and never listened to them (most were still in shrinkwrapping) and just came in and pawned all the albums cause he needed some money for Christmas, I went in looking for a copy of Trout Mask Replica because it was the day Beefheart died, but instead found 30+ Zappa records in mint condition. I nearly orgasmed on the spot.
Anyone ever checked out George Duke's solo stuff? There was another crate digger in the shop watching me thumb through the Zappa and was trying to sell me on One Size, which I really, really wanted but couldn't spend more than 40 bucks, plus I have it in my car on cassette, which I pride myself on very much, but he was telling me some of the stuff Duke did on his own is out of this world.

Seems like a good deal, nevertheless. What about the two mystery discs, and what about the two samplers? T-Shirt? Poster?

That's interesting...I don't recall any of the actual individual albums being sealed.

Only my samplers (which I guess are not part of the box) had the shrinkwrapping plastic still on, with an open slit for the LP to come out. The guy who sold me, sent me extra cover plastics, but if I dress em up, they won't fit in the box. Vols 2 and 3 have one side of the inner bed already torn on the edge, other than that it is really almost brand new (mint). I payed each approx. what you payed for the whole bundle...

Dirtsail0r, I've been dreaming to find a situation like yours, so I could finish my Zappa vinyl (at least one version) LP collection.

If you decide to open the Ruben album, check the record label. That's the best way to see if it is from the original set.

Note that it's sides 11+12 (not 1+2)

Catalogue number on cover should be BPR-7777-5

Did anyone here pick up the promo LPs from the big Vintage Vaultage Vinyl jumble sale some years back?
