The last album I bought was the Helsinki Concert from the YCDTOSA serie. Actually I bought it already at once but I lost it, so I had to buy it once again, just because I love the lineup from the Roxy & Elsewhere era!

I've been falling behind in my Zappa collecting, so the other day I ordered these two gems.

I found this rather remarkable artifact in a new record shop in my dirty old hometown. Maybe I'll write some sort of review when I've had the chance to listen to it.

Beware of counterfeits when it comes to albums from Zappa's active vinyl era! Just today after close examination and comparison with help from the recommended book ‘Grand Zappa‘ (http://www.amazon.de/Grand-Zappa-Intern ... 3896025813) I discovered decades after having purchased them in serious record stores back in the 70s and early 80s that my copy of Ruben & The Jets is definitely a counterfeit. Absolutely Free most likely is. Not finally sure about Chunga's Revenge. I have seen counterfeits that are very obvious. These are not and only reveal their status by direct comparison. They never sounded good BTW. I have an Italian pressing of Zappa In New York with Punky's Whips on it which is most likely a counterfeit, too, but does sound good though.

Many of the earlier albums that had been already out of print in the late 70s have appeared as counterfeits afterwards and were sold in regular stores obviously.

I got the original Roxy LP today - still sealed, 37 years old, as new  - My second SS artifact, the first one being The Grand Wazoo. Prices around $100 each, if you want to compare with the VVV offer...
