I always figured this song was a cover because it is so damn recognizable. Does this song sound like another song to anyone else? The main theme that starts at 40 seconds in at least. I've heard it somewhere else. In an old classic rock song maybe? Or is it a quote from another Zappa song? Can't put my damn finger on it!!

I suppose it is very much Peaches. Just like a 'bigger' version. I don't know, I swear it seems more familiar than that.

Well, it does go by more than one name...

I always enjoy the solos on this tune whatever the name.

Such as "Kreega Bondola" or "Canard du Jour," or various variations of these...

First notes of Peaches intro: D-C#-B in B minor
First notes of Cleveland "chorus": G-F#-F#-F#-G-F#-E in E minor

So, both walk down from the third to first degrees of the scale, but Cleveland does so in a different key and tempo and with a few repeated notes. A vague similarity at most, I think.

Oh sure, bring musical shit into it.

Songs can be played in Different Key and sound Similar and take a look at the time of each of the songs both change course at the same time 40 sec so i think they have some timing in common.

Yeah these are all very good points. I just swear I've heard it outside of Zappa. Zeppelin maybe. I don't know. It's a killer song though.

I guess "Dazed And Confused" (G-F#-F-E) has a vague similarity too.

It is close for sure. But who knows where I'm getting this from. Probably some obscure metal track. Or I heard this in another time. Maybe it was peaches all along.

Great song though.
