Read John Mortimer: "Paradise Postponed" and "Clinging to the Wreckage", Tony Curtis "Some Like It Hot", Josef Goebbels "Diaries 1945" and Mark Haddon "The Curious Incident of the dog in the night time" in the last week, with the aid of French food, wine and holidays.

I've been telling everyone for a year that this will be one of the best movies of the decade. Paul Thomas Anderson is directing the movie based on the novel and it should be out in Dec/Jan. The book mentions Zappa at least twice that I recall. There is also a fictional band named Spotted Dick. haha. Read it before you see the movie. The film seems destined to be a true cult classic. We'll see.

No. Haven't read that one yet. Junior's book was ok. At least he wasn't too preachy about his Christianity. I'm afraid Mustaine's book might not be the same, given how opinionated he is. I'm assuming you read it. What's your opinion?

Hey Phil, I received that book for my birthday recently. It's a good read. I'm was surprised as to how integral John French and Jeff Morris Tepper were to the Captain during his career.

By the way, my current read:

He has a lot of opinions that'll piss off the lefties, that's for sure.

Between this book and the Beefheart documentary, I've come to realize that Don was a master manipulator. Perhaps the reason his relationship with Zappa was strained is because Zappa's will was too strong for Don to manipulate him?

FZ seems to have been pretty manipulative to me, that would definitely clash...

I've dug up my old math textbooks and I'm enjoying them, making sums and refreshing my knowledges on sinuses.
