On this, the 14th anniversary of his death.

I don't think he went on his "last tour."

Rather, I think it was just his next tour in that (given enough time) the universe will expand, contract, and then blow up and spit out Frank once again to amaze us with his musical mayhem.

Tonight the 3 C's and 1 F. Candles, Coffee Ciggies and play some FZ. I am not encouraging anyone to smoke, but burn one for Frank if you can. I'll be listening to Wazoo and Hot Rats.

I think that everyone on this board miss FZ today as 14 years ago. I spent all those years re-discovering his genius, and there's a lot to learn from his art. His book is always near my bed, and those words on music and society are always a reference to me.

Thanks for all, Frank. Rest in peace and watch over all of us.

Tonights the first of hopefully many open mic nights one of my bands are hosting, I had them rehearse a couple FZ songs for the occasion. I'll be having the 3 Cs, Candles, Cofbeerfee and second hand cigarette smoke. I'll bring a couple Zappa discs for the FOH guy to play between sets.

I started learning to play Whats New in Baltimore today. Its one of my favortie songs and i felt extra motivated to play franks music today. Eveytime I learn a new frank song it reminds me how great he was at everything. I mean as a bass player its hard to enough to write cool bass parts then this guy not only writes a cool melody but a crazy bass line and probably even the drum parts. What he could hear in his head blows my mind. So far I've managed the first 12 measures in about an hour. (I'm mostly self taught so it probably wouldn't take real players that long.) But anyway. Frank is very much missed. And I have been trying to get in a couple songs from all of his lineups in throughout the day to remind myself of the diversity of one man.
People tell me I need to diversify my music collection but they just don't know whats on my 70+ Frank albums.

Has it really been 14 years since my friends called me throughout the day to make sure I was OK after hearing of Frank's passing? We knew it would come eventually, yet it was all too soon.

WOW!

Thank God for recording devices, cuz Music IS the best!

Thank You Frank!!!

As long as we still have his music, he's not gone. Sure, he can't actively make music any more, but there's so much stuff in the vault that hasn't seen the light of day yet that any fans wanting new material should be happy for years to come.

Rest in Peace Frank.
You're in a better place than we are.
Good night and God Bless. GC

Agreed. But when he was alive the world was a better place just knowing he was in it. 8)
