Are we supposed to give a rationale? Here's mine: I liked his hair and thought he was cute.

Hey Foots, I wasn't really blasting you for GE. I have at least 7 recordings by Reuben Blades. That should makes us even.

Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story. I've always thought it was great. And I really like the Reuben Blades song "Hopes On Hold".

I was trying to think of another "guilty pleasure" and I suppose it would be Hot August Night.

Wait, it gets worse. I own the Ooo-La-La record with the moving album cover that makes the guys mouth open and close.Maybe since Ron Wood was on it (Rod Steward and The Faces) it makes up for it. Yeah, that's it. It'll make up for my lack of cool brought on by saving lunch money and buying that record.

I watched it when Quentin Tarantino was a guest judge. He was the best judge on the panel. I really don't see why he loves the show so much, though.

cal, good choice! i used to play crunchy granola suite, hot august night, and i am, i said over and over in my little teenage room in high school.

no fear, catpuke..those are fab lp choices. and feel good that you showed the initiative to save your moola way back when. i saved up to buy good singin', good playin' by grand funk---unfortunately, i bought it with some 2 dollar bills my mom gave out during xmas---should've saved those bills!

nothing wrong with canada, sab--it's a selling point!

the original movie of "the parent trap" hayley mills plays twins--two is better than wuh-un!

I've got a few Rod Stewart albums - I grew up on "Foot Loose and Fancy Free" (featuring "Hot Legs"). And I count "You Wear it Well" and "Handbags and Gladrags" among my favorite songs from that era.

And re: Gloria Estefan, I confess I don't actually own any of her albums, but I've gotten close to buying her greatest hits album a couple of times. My family was in Miami during Hurricane Andrew, and I just remember how much Gloria did to help the community recover - so I really admire her for that.

The Thompson Twins' "If You Were Here" gets my vote as the best pop song in the history of recorded music.

My vote goes to "What a Fool Believes" by the Doobie Bros.

SO YOU LIED?!?! :x You just said ANYTHING just to get other people to spill their guts?!?!

I still like the song Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart.
Dove-I still have a $2 somewhere. They were weird looking. And I remembered when this thread was started by you waaaay back!
I have to go delete things I said now
 You know, so that the new kids can't see....

OH GOD, FEETS!!! WHAT HAVE YOU STARTED????? :x :x :x :x

Oh yeah, NicHoLai-I absolutely love Christina A.'s voice. I hate the extreme
singing thing she does but for such a little thing she's got a lot of good powerful voice.

I have that, as well. Maggie Mae is a classic. Any hip person, into the music scene in the early '70s has that album...sing it "Every picture tells a story, donut!"

I'm a bit ashamed to admit I like/own a copy of "Capt. Fantastic and the Dirt Brown Cowboy" (Sir Elton played in town last night....but I didn't go. 8) )

I've come real close, many times, to buying "The Best of the Carpenters", but have resisted....so far.
