Q: Are we calling our favorite music "general music"
in eager attempts of using unnecessary terms AND prompting conflict?

General as in rock, classical, jazz, samba or whatever...

Mars, the Bringer of War - by Gustav Holst (1874-1934):

I could be incorrect but what does the climate have to do with music. Do you mean climactic ?

the most climatic moment in general music was when the girl that worked at the college [who was really skinny & insensitive to climactic changes] took off her clothes, jumped in the pool & threw her panties over by the little table ...

Oops... It seems we were confronted with a partial, how shall we say, language barrier here, we don't wanna press the issue too much folks, but are those different words in English? I mean as in 'It felt good. Wow, it felt good. And I really, I really climaxed'... Let me check: yes, climactic, but not in a [necessarily] sexual way, but atmospheric sort of way... So also, I guess, climatic...

The confusion comes from its roots, which relate with being inclined:

Etymology

From French climat, from Latin clima, from Ancient Greek κλίμα (klíma, “inclination”), from κλίνω (klínō, “to slope, incline”) (from which also cline), from Proto-Indo-European *ḱley- (English lean).

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/climax

Climax was what I was thinking; Thread title edit on the way...

This is one is for the sensible and sophisticated forumer...

Guys, please disregard my previous post in this thread
and kindly direct your attention to this one instead.

Most climactic moments in general music via 1 song which happens to be under 1 minute in length:

Well, I've been haunted in my sleep
You've been staring in my dreams
Lord I miss you.
I've been waiting in the hall
Been waiting on your call
When the phone rings
It's just some friends of mine that say,
"Hey, what's the matter man?
We're gonna come around at twelve
With some Puerto Rican girls that are just dyin' to meet you
We're gonna bring a case of wine
Hey, let's go mess and fool around
You know, like we used to"

Ok, not fair. This one made my young baby jump several inches from my lap when it kick-started in a slightly excessive volume.

This belongs in the weird music thread. John Zorn?
