Actually, today was an exceptionally BEAUTIFUL day! :D

The sun shone all day as my son had a BLAST sledding down the big hill by our town library. 8)

Wasn't too much here, official count is 18 inches (1/2 meter), but I think it was more like a foot. I wore a pulse monitor and figured out one hour of shoveling is like one hour of bike riding: 430 calories. I think south, (like gypsy and Philly), may have gotten more, (hi gypsy, sometimes I have to work by the J in New Jersey, lol).

No real drama photos, but here's a cruise around the neighborhood...

Lol, METHOD ONE, and METHOD TWO>>>

ABOVE, Method 1, BELOW, Method 2:

Looks like last nights wind was a little much for this tree, (look at the swirl of snow around the bottom, it looks like it was planted at the time of the 'swirl formation' so the break must have been this morning...

A peaceful rest...

Lovely pics, Baddy. That second photo could, once again, have been taken from near my house, except for the fallen down tree. Trees only fall down in Germany if they've filled out a form in triplicate beforehand. :)

Not great here. Roads treacherous. No gritting on our village back roads. Dangerous just trying to walk up our steep drive. Usual shambles with airports and roads closed. Abandoned cars. Cancelled trains and thousands of people stuck all night in the Channel Tunnel (between England and France).

More snow to come. :(

I quite like a little snow on Christmas day but want it gone by the end of Boxing day when I might want to go somewhere. Fed up with it now.

I couldn't agree more. Snow is for small children and advertisments.

How I hate the winter season. From friday until sunday we had heavy snowfall. Then the snow melted, next night it was so cold that we had glazed frost on the streets. This morning there were treacherous ice conditions all the way from home to the railway station, which is 10 km away from here. Don't tell me winter season is romantic. :P

We used to live in Glasgow but we moved to Ayrshire about 6/7 years ago now, my wife is originally from this area. We are hoping to move back to Glasgow next year though, as it's like Groundhog Day living here.

Aah! I remember being caught in a fast-incoming tide in Largs when I was a kid, a day trip to Butlins in Ayr and visits to Troon on the summer "visit the rellies" holiday. Can't imagine wanting to live in Glasgow - it was shit the last time I was there.

Haha good old butlins, my wife worked there when she was a teenager. Troon is a lovely place, so is largs. I agree about glasgow in many ways, but it's also a great place to live in many ways also...depends where you are really. My wife wants to move back for her sanity, she grew up here and hates it. Therefore, i'm moving back for my sanity also

I can understand about not wanting to live where you grew up; but that's what burning bridges are for... :) plus it slows down the angry mobs.

I've been living in town for about 15 years and I'm still not used to the constant noise. I miss real darkness and clear skies at night. I also miss blowing stuff up in impromptu bonfires. Last fire in our area was when the neighbour burnt down their new shed. And their fence. And their neighbours' garage wall.

But my wife likes it here. And, as you say, it's about sanity.

Lightly snowing and foggy, right now. Warming up, towards freezing rain for Christmas (tomorrow) morning.
