Yeah, but I'd rather like to enjoy the illusion longer - not that I'm doing much to extend it

Don't we all want to extend life as far as we can? I'm seeking a coarse to at least 120. I figure if I live for a couple more years I'll be halfway there anyway. So why not, with modern technology and all, if you eat right, take care of the old body, we can tack on 20 more years right now. Just think how many more it will be in 15-20 yrs. Tack, tack, tack, and I'm 120! Whoopi! Where's my waitress? Opel you hot little bitch!
I use my illusion...or is it delusion?

It's fucking freezing here in Bordeaux. We're just not used to this 5°C shit! And of course my heating system decided that now was a good time to fuck up! Called the company with the maintenance contract and the nice lady tells me "Ok I think we can fit you in for monday morning" Cocksuckers!!

So the whole weekend will come and go, Acadian, and now you might get some heat by Monday?

12F windchill makes it feel like 5F.

Times like theses I'm glad I heat with wood throughout the winter. Propane and electric heat don't even come close to the toasty feeling of a wood stove. Snug as a bug in a rug.

Ice storm...power outages are happening here and there. Will be kind of touch and go for the next 2-3 days. Expecting heavy snow on Monday night on top of a bunch of ice. Beware of the snapping tree limbs falling onto your car or house. :P

We need some rain/snow out here...bad! We're 17-1/2" below normal as is. Were quickly approaching official drought status. :(

We are one of the major water sources for the west and there has been no rain or snow this winter, that is big doings...saw a photo of one of the dams last week and it was nearly empty!

I doubt we can get enough Sierra cement snowpack at this late date to make up for it either. So it's back to "if it's brown flush it down, if it's yellow it's mellow" as we go into another dry spell. :(

Whiteout conditions are to be expected from time to time over the next 24 hrs. Big lake effect snow is on the way. A good time to hunker down and stay put.
