Thanks for the link, Trip...that's just the sort of thing I salivate for, and you are a good, good person for posting such things.

That's a late 40s-early 50s Plymouth or maybe Dodge woody. Real wood.

One might think that's an old Chrysler on top, but I'm pretty certain that's a Duesenburg. It's probably a Le Baron body. Le Baron did a lot of work for Chrysler. Duesenburgs were sold as chassis only and it was up to the owner to have a body fitted to it. This is why many Duesenburgs are unique...therefore the phrase "that's a duesey". The cars were hecka fast and very expensive, and today fetch million dollar sale prices.

Hey, you know what car is cool and Zappa related? Packard! See if you can find one with the goose hood ornament...!

Okay, now we're talking! Dodge Magnum becoming very scarce...early 50s Dodge "Job Rated" pickup like my Granpa had...holds six shoats or two sows or one boar.

'63 Chevy II Nova like my Aunt had...Nova because two-door hardtop. They built this body style and variants thereof in South America for many years, but they didn't call it a Nova. "no va" in Spanish means "no go".

Alvin, I have that exact same picture of a 1959 Dodge Royal Custom Lancer. Please try to post pics I don't already have! These are some of the most desirable of Exner's "Forward Look" cars. They saved Chrysler's ass in the day. My dad had a '59 Royal Lancer, like the one in the photo but a step down without the "Custom". It was red and white and wouldn't start if you peed on it. These cars have become ridiculously expensive in the collector market, but only the hardtops and convertables. They are traded among a few enthusiast who tend to block out ignorant newcomers. I love these Exner cars...check out a DeSoto of the same era.

'60 Biscayne? Eh...'59s are more interesting...

Now, '59 and '60 Buicks...there's a car! But if you really want fins, nothing beats the '59 Caddy.

Cletus, what's the difference between a three-hole Buick and a four-hole?

Now you can buy stick-on holes to put on any car! Will wonders ever cease?!

I can't identify any of those except the Vette and Riv. I assume the top one is an Auburn.

Best Vette ever.

...and hey Clete...I saw a Riv somewhere...I think it's in Vacaville...a white one like yours...someone had modified it with little fins coming off the back fenders. Looks better than you might think! I want to say it's sitting in a driveway on Davis Street off of Alamo.

They're calling the new Lincoln MKT a boattail. What do you think?

yeap you gotem

Ventiports..in the early days the higher cost models had 4 ports lower had 3, eventually being 3 across all lines. Some of the newer Park Ave's have 4.
oh yea I see ports on Mustangs and Hondas now...

Some concepts I wish Buick would have made..

That one looks like a "Buick Corvette"...why can't they build them instead of just teasing us?

I love junkyard photos!

Cadillac didn't make station wagons...all that's aftermarket. That's not quite a Ghostbusters ambulance...that would be a '59...with bigger fins!

No, they sent chassis and half-bodies to aftermarket coachbuilders that made stationwagons and ambulances out of them. I'm not talking about GM, I'm talking about Cadillac specifically.

Flower cars are cool. So are cathedral-glass hearses. That's a whole sub-segment.
