Back in the early 60's, when I was around 8 years old, Aunt Nancy visited us, for the weekend. This meant she got to sleep in my bed, while I had to sleep on the livingroom couch...just across the room from the T.V. This afforded me the rare opportunity to see the Friday Night Midnight Horror feature!
That night, it was "It! The Terror From Beyond Space". The first movie that ever gave me.....the willies!
I didn't expect to find this scene on the 'net, but, sonuvagun, it is!

I just love this because when I was a young teen there was a woman just like this.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the proper version: the only one I found has both the start, and the end of the scene (the most fun) cut off. But it's the opening from the Dutch 1980s movie Amsterdamned, which robbed me of many nights sleep when I first saw it as a kid, and which has the most glorious opening I've encountered in a movie as of yet.

I had not seen this thread before and Doug is 100 percent correct, as a young boy in the 60's this movie scared the crap out of me. On a side note many of the concepts and story line ideas of the movie Alien were founded in this movie.

I will second and third Doug and Plook. "It" totally scared the crap out of me as a kid. And Plook, you're absolutely correct about the Alien reference.

One of the best.

The atmospheric opening murder in Italian horror film Suspiria (1977), with Goblin's excellent soundtrack, is something to see and hear.....if you dare.

That scene made me jump, at the cinema, fer sure!

This scene, from the first "Thing From Another World" got me goin', as well!
It's better, with the longer, suspenseful lead up, but.....
