Following a post by BBP in Gail's Answers:
I realize this book is standing in my living room shelves, and I still have not read it.

However I really enjoyed reading the biography by Christophe Delbrouck in 3 volumes which is only available in French unfortunately.
So I would really be interested to have other readers' opinion on it.

It is like a message in a bottle, because I have no idea how many people here can read French (maybe less than 2%), and amongst them only a minority might have read one of these books.
Whatever, let's try anyway.

Worth translating into a more global language (like Norwegian)?

I can read French, but it's very tiresome. I also have another French bio by Guy Darol, but found numerous errors in that. If you could, say, photograph the first few pages and send them this way I could have a shot at cracking it.

I attempted to read two books by him, but could not get into the style. They seemed to me closer to essays than biographies.Good idea, I will scan extracts and mail them to you

Les trois volumes sont dans ma biblio. Bonne écriture, informations pas mal. Il s'aventure un peu trop sur des aspects sociologiques de la musique de FZ à mon avis. Une bonne lecture pour le novice de FZ, mais trois volumes ??

The three volumes are in my bookshelf. Godd writing, lots of info. He goes into the sociological aspects of Fz' music a little too much in my opinion. A good read for the new Fz fan, but three volumes??

Thanks for your answer. Funny coincidence, I bought the first book a little while after I started to get into Zappa's music in 2003.
