IMO if you can make at least one totally awesome joke with it, there's no need to erase it from history:

I'll go with that....It's been a while since I saw that pic. Can we go with "In The Navy" or "Macho Man" instead?

I've changed my mind to Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush. Like the songs I mentioned earlier it gets terribly stuck in your head far beyond annoyance, but in my case I have horrible memories attached to it that are revived every time I hear that song and when it's stuck in my head I keep getting visions of my evil stepmother force-feeding me with bony fish.

The Beach Boys - "I'm Bugged at My Old Man"

A big ol' stinkin' turd that Brian Wilson crapped out on an otherwise fantastic album; and immediately after the album's charming instrumental track, at that.

Free Bird. Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but if it had never been written then we wouldn't have to hear it yelled out by drunks at unrelated concerts! Last time I heard it yelled: Oct.23rd 2013 @ 200 Motels world premiere, LA. Right before Asa walked out. What a dumbass!

Just discovering the thread...

Joni a 'pretty good' songwriter ? I'd up that a notch to extremely good songwriter, and an artist that most professional musicians have enormous respect for.

Now let's erase that 'Africa song" by TOTO

I was so overcome with emotion by this thread that I was moved to write a poem about it.

Here it is, hope you all enjoy it:

If you could erase one song from history
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time mystery
'Bout a ghost from a wishin' well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
With chains upon my feet
You know that ghost is me
And I will never be set free
As long as I'm a ghost that you can't see

The legend lives on
From the Zappa Forum on down
Of the user they call Sleeping In A Jar
He got into his head
"Lightfoot's song should be dead"
Just when the skies of November turned gloomy
He wrote up a poem
Not long like a tome
Of a parody of a Lightfoot ditty
He posted it there
And thus exposed bare
That Gordon guy is not too witty

As long as I'm a ghost that you can't see,
I could be Bob or Jacob Marley.
Boo!
Tee-hee-hee.
Scared you,
Made you pee!

On Topic: The song that started DISCO.

Hey Cal, I think it's a shame that you wrote that great reply when my post was so lame.

(Thanks for the Gordon joke Cal. I dislike him intensely, he's full of that kind of material.)

I like Africa. And Rosanna, although it's more for the guitar solo.
