I must admit to laughing equally as much at Donald Rumsfeld today. His references to rewarding those elements of the media that had given good advice and punishing those who hadn't. Then referring to the freedom of the press in the US. Very funny.

Or stating, with a straight face, that there are those who lie and get away with it. Hilarious.

The whole stand-up routine was only spoiled for me by the constant gloating references to the coalition successes in Iraq.

The coalition haven't even caught Saddam or Comical Ali (his preferred nickname in this neck of the coalition). No WMD have been found. All we have achieved is to make life a hell of a lot worse for the very people we were supposed to be liberating.

Never mind, we need the oil. :(

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/middleeast/view/37804/1/.html

Former Iraqi information minister, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, has reportedly committed suicide.

Newspapers in Iran claimed that Saeed al-Sahhaf hanged himself hours before Baghdad was taken by US forces.

Saeed al-Sahhaf is not in a US pack of cards of 55 most-wanted Iraqis distributed to the American troops in Iraq but, as the mouthpiece for the Iraqi regime during the war, he is being sought.

Saeed al-Sahhaf was last seen in a recording facility in Baghdad where he made his final radio addresses.

The coalition military has warned that the suicide reports may be aimed at staving off attempts by the US to capture him.

Damn... hope it isn't true.

It seems that George dobbelya Bush also loves this Mohammed guy....at least that's what the newspaper said today...

I'd love to see them both in a live TV debate, that would probably be the best and most entertaining piece of television of the 20th an 21st century...
