Once I convinced a rather dominant and repressive literature high-school teacher to watch and use the movie Pink Floyd The Wall as didactic material on for the class...

I once fixed a leaky faucet, without having any idea how to do it. I read some books and figured it out all by myself.

I ran a marathon in Detroit in '91 one in Huntsville Alabama in '95, and no I don't mean that I managed the gas station of the same name.

Stopping drinking, it's been just over 9 years

In fact, I first started using this forum when I stopped drinking and was spending more time in the house.

Wow, 9 years! Congrats! I'm glad that you decided from then on to live a straight and normal life.

Started my first post masters job as a therapist. Quit smoking after 20 yrs. of 2 packs/day. Managed to cope with my dad's major heart attack that almost killed him.

All on August 4, 1987.

TRAITOR! (Mind you, two packs a day is a bit much)

It's actually 9 years and 40 days, but who's counting.

I live as regular a life as the next person Cal  probably a lot more so than you'd imagine.

I'm happily married (our 10th anniversary is due soon), 4 kids, 2 of whom won educational scholarships to top independent schools and we're aiming for the other 2 to win them also when it's time for them to go to high school.

I'm currently doing the honours year of my politics degree at university and my wife runs her own business.

We have a dog called bess and our kids are all actively involved in sports. Tae Kwon Do, Cricket, Golf and Hockey and so far 2 of them play piano at a more than proficient level, the other 2 are getting there.

And yes, I still smoke weed if that's what you're driving at. So I guess my life really is some bizarre experiment  but it's one I certainly don't need to make any apologies for!
