The question one must ask is if the sped-up discs influenced Robert's own playing? Was it a bit of Zappa-like wizadry? Did he speed up the songs in a live setting, try to achieve the impossible?

Heh.

RJ was never in my top 5 or 10 country bluesmen but he definitely went up a notch after I heard the corrected cd-r.

This is one of those cases where I really wish there was some kind of 50 cycle hum on the recordings that the speed could be calibrated to.
