You wear your heart on your sleeve, baddy, but I'm still an enigma to you. 8)

Actually I was hoping for a change here, a departure from the "Hillary vs Rudy," course.

Credit where credit's due.

I wouldn't say youre an enigma to me. So far from what I've seen is you've been consitantly a pro PATRIOT Act candidate, pro-outsourcing candidate, pro-war candidate voter. I hope this is the year that changes.

Me? Pro-Patriot Act??? You couldn't be farther from the truth. Yet another baddy-babble-ism.
You don't have a fuckin' clue! Like I previously wrote.....I'm still an enigma to you.

I think I have a handle on this situation. Jimmie D WOULD vote for a Kucinich or Gravel if everyone else would, he believes in voting for the lesser evil, or any vote that isn't likely to go to the top two candidates is a wasted vote. Correct?

As it now stands.....that's pretty close.

Of course, if everyone else voted for Kucinich or Gravel, I wouldn't need to vote at all.

I plan on serving as an election judge, as I did last election. I'm a registered Independent, and The Republican Party recruited me last time. It seems that there were not enough registered Republican volunteers in my county. The one-day assignment pays about $150. Funny story: The night before the election, all judges were required to go to their voting facility to help with setup. I wore a CRANK SOME FRANK t-shirt to setup, and during the course of the evening, I explained what it meant and talked about my association with the Zappa tribute band known as Project/Object. The next day (Election Day) a voter came up to me and said, "Oh, you must be the guy who used to play with Frank Zappa!" Funny how quickly people talk about stuff and how garbled the facts become during translation.

Thanks. It seemed like a natural. So many meanings all in one. I will feel terrible if some prominent right-wing talk show host grabs hold of this term and spreads it across America. All of these expressions start somewhere.....and you read it here first!

In a perfect world, (ie: your one vote chooses the candidate who wins, you're in control Jimmie!) Who would you pick to win out of all the candidates on either side?

Well, it's happened. I heard a progressive radio talk show host named Lionel use the term this morning.

When I quickly glanced at the title of this thread, I thought it said "Hillary masterbates herself".

Caveats:

Jimmie's not going to "go first," we've already had his threads, 13 months out from the elections, that "face it," we must accept that it will be the likes Hillary vs Rudy. Not only that, but I've been personally ridiculed for my support of the three non monied candidates of Paul, Gravel and Kucinich, some of that ridicule has extended to all three of these candidates as well. And this is still 13 months out from the elections...gotta get everyone started early on accepting the enevitability of the evil candidates. Personal ridicule may befall anyone who bucks the lesser evil plan.

If the so called lesser evil candidate helped write and/or voted for the PATRIOT Act, the Medicare bill, NAFTA and the WTO and wants to add 40, 000 to the army and send two more divisions immediatly into Baghdad to "fight a smarter war," that's no problem, at least it's better than wasting your vote on someone who is against these things. hell, if you "fight a smarter war" as Kerry was promising to do, you might only kill 600, 000 civilians instead of 700, 000 civilians, an improvement of 100, 000, (now all one has to do is figure out from the two big money corrupt, which one will only kill the 600, 000). Only 600, 000 dead, quite an improvement, lesser evil in action.

Someone needs to ask the question: WHY is it a so-called "wasted vote" to vote for a non-monied candidate. Is it exactly and only because of lesser evil voters? Are there any OTHER types of voters that cause this, or is it ONLY because of lesser evil voters?

IMHO the rotten situation we're in is caused by lesser evil voters. It also causes the candidates to get worse every cycle. For example telling the DNC (through our votes for the likes of Kerry), that we will accept war hawk corporate candidates insures we will "have to settle for them in the next cycle, (voting Kerry begets candidates like Hillary). Like Chomsky says: "an aroused public must not come to understand the workings of the corporate-state system." Lesser evil voters are accepting, not aroused. Lesser evil voters don't go down fighting, they just go down.

We are already at pretty horrid level of evil, even the top Dems won't commit to ending the occupation by 2013 (and Hillary says past the end of her SECOND term), we can no longer afford to advance evil at a lesser rate.

And for example, the R's think their guy is lesser evil, and so do the Dems...but compare Hillary and Romney for example, Hillary's husband killed a million Iraqi's in his 8 years, he outsourced our jobs by installing NAFTA and the WTO, he installed the basis for the MCA, she urged him to bomb Lebanon sooner, and she scolded bush for being "soft on Iran," and two debates ago said she wants to "finally put some teeth into" our pressure on Iran, she joined the "New Security Democrats," with their first strike (including nuclear), policy, and three debates ago she said she'd killl innocent civilians to kill bin Laden as long as it wasn't a "tremendous amount of collateral damage," (and I'm assuming as long as Chelsea wasn't in her pile of collateral damage either).

And that's just off the top of my head for starters, if that's lesser evil, I don't want any part of it. Also, I neither can morally vote for it (because it's not me who's doing the dying), but I don't want any part of generally advancing evil at that rate either.

It may be a short time, or a long time, or maybe even never, but NOTHING good is going to happen until we can outnumber the lesser evil voters, somebody has to be willing to "go first."

IMHO, these guys not only have it right, but they have the balls to go first: "Drop Bush, Drop Kerry, Not Bombs!"

The fact of the matter remains, if the public continue to vote with a herd mentality, then democracy does not exist, there is only the will of the mainstream media, and whoever controls it.
