I have been really obsessed with the Tree of Life movie. Mrs Green went before I, and said she really hated it, but I ended up going alone a month ago and it was a completely different cinematographic experience for me. I don't remember having seen such a great movie in the theatre. Such hi def projection! It was sort of hard for the length (given it's fragmentary narrative) but it appealed for my emotions and my reason (and my personal experiences) in a way that truly defines what pure art should be about...

Anyone had the pleasure/displeasure of seeing this movie yet?

Tree of Life is excellent, and surprisingly engaging - I expected to be artistically bored, but ended up enjoying every moment.

The Shining used to be my favourite as a kid.

Now I think I like better:

Rope
Psycho
Modern Times
A Clockwork Orange
200 Motels

No such thing.

I love the Shining. That is not what I am saying.
Better = Santa Claus.

But "I like better" is different to "is better". I haven't said I don't love the Shining anymore or something, I suppose it would be on the list of favourites too.
